Great article exploring all 1st round trades over the last ten years.

  • 25% of the time teams picking 26 - 32 trade there picks
  • the Browns seem to be in the middle of every controversial first round trade
  • Panthers Trade 1st round pick for Everett Brown....49ers get  4× Pro Bowler Mike Iupati with the traded pick

Thank God "Panthers trade 1st overall pick to move up and select Jimmy Clausen", despite Hurney's efforts to do just that, didn't happen.

That said, the team may very well have had the #1 overall pick again in 2012 had it happened. Wonder if Luck would have stayed in school for yet another year...

This is an outright lie. Hurney said at Clausen's presser that he refused to give up a first despite being pressed to do so.

Mm'kay, and NFL FOs are renowned for their honesty in press conferences.

He literally said of his own volition that he was pressed to give a 1st but refused to do so. Not that your original post suggests you remember him saying that but you choosing just not to believe it anyways as its pretty clearly a falsehood you just made up in your head.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
