Probably about $100 million dollars.

Not your money.  Not mine.  Who cares?  It's the ONLY shot we have.   This team will put us in the middle rounds of drafting every year, and if we're terrible drafting with a top 5 pick, we're even worse down there.

I'm not even sure we have a shot, but if we do - we take it.

As far as a 'wrecker of franchises' - i think thats not fair. He didn't wreck Orlando. Back then he was universally like and was a 'nice guy'. he didnt want to change that and kept trying to have it work out and not leave them hanging dry - in the end he had to leave to try and get to a winner.

La was a train wreck of a squad when they hired Dantoni and brought in a 80 yr old Nash. They wrecked themselves and Dwight jumped ship - I would have too.

Houston is poo, but that isn't Dwight's fault - I put that on Darrel Morey and Harden. Morey built that team with a sh!tastic plan. When you trade for Josh Smith and Beasley in the same season to "try and fix things" - you know you dun fugged up.

I'm not saying Dwight is completely innocent in any of these situations - he should have just come clean in Orlando and let them know he was going - and he should have been a bit more professional in LA with the Kobe situation, but he aint the sole reason for all those teams turning into soggy bread..

Maybe, but so is our drafting.  So what do we have to lose?

That's because our GM and Owner do the opposite of what is common sense.

9th pick in the Draft?  Draft Frank over Winslow.  2nd pick in the Draft?  Draft MKG over Beal, Barnes, and others.

DeAndre Jordan available?  Draft Alexis Ajinca.

Drafting Winslow would have been dumb. The team extended MKG, Traded for Batum where does a guy who isn't a great shooter fit on a healthy Hornets lineup. If Winslow played at Ohio State rather than Duke, Hornets fans would quit bringing him up in every conversation about last year's draft.

We need an up, and coming player who can takeover a game. Not a guy who will disappear when it matters most.

Howard at this point in his career is just a name that will get attention, and add to ticket sales.

If you as a fan want to actually win games when it matters, then Howard is just about the exact opposite of a player you would want to bring in, especially considering the price it would cost us.

    • Honestly, I view the rest of this season like every game is a division game - meaning you can throw the records out.  Throw the perceived favorites out.  Every week, we have to show up and punch them in their mouth.  We’re gonna have to gut it out.  We can’t go into games against well coached teams and think, “well, the Rams already got that one, McVay is just too good of a coach and they’re too talented.”  “Can’t beat the Niners.  Shanahan is one of the best and they just play everyone so tough, even with injuries.”  We have to go into each game feeling like everyone counted us out and we have to show them why they’re wrong.  And speaking of the Niners - that’s the exact blueprint we need to be looking at - for the last, it seems like at least 5 years, they have been decimated with injuries.  And they still contend to win their division and make a run in the playoffs every year.  Even while starting a plethora of QBs.  Even with their best defensive players being out for the bulk of seasons…  their DNA doesn’t change.  They compete.  Their standard is winning and nothing less, so even if you’re the 3rd stringer forced into action, either show up and play to that level or find another team.  This should be our approach and I think the Saints game was an important wake up call… I occasionally listen to whatever ESPN show is on sports radio in the mornings with Chris Camry and I believe it was after we beat the Packers, they asked him about us and he said, “they’re a young team learning how to win.”  And that is about as accurate or a description as you can get.  It explains the hiccups and the struggles.  But it also explains why it looks so good when we put it all together.  What we need now is our guys to have that light bulb come on as a collective and never look back.  I hope last week was the start of that and it continues tonight and for the rest of the season..
    • The veterans played better last night and they actually were looking for Kon but Bridges and Sexton went for a combined 2-15 from three. That is so bad.

Apparently in his mind being perpetually injured and playing less than Gordon Hayward while on a supermax contract has no effect on the forward progress of the franchise.
