That seemed meaner than I intended it to be. Historically, the Falcons have been jokes. However, they've greatly improved since Arthur Blank took the reins from Rankin Smith. They've improved to be more like the mediocre Panthers instead of the god-awful Lions and Bengals.

I thought we would be mediocre this season too (7-9 - 9-7) because of the young defense and the tough schedule...but now im not so sure these guys cant contend with anyone (thats the roller coaster of the NFL season). 12-4 and a bye sure would be nice. If they could pull that off, maybe we could run Thomas Dimitroff and Mike Smith right out of town!

Hey, maybe I am accustomed to mediocrity, or maybe I have been around the NFL long enough to have reasonable expectations, but IMO if a coach goes 12-5, they get a one year pass before I call for their heads.

Mike Smith reminds me much of John Fox when he first got here. They will see in about 4 or 5 years what we are dealing with when a coach becomes complacent from a little bit of success.
