I'm having trouble understanding all the, not just disinterest, but almost anti-interest. Why a team wouldn't bring in a guy who was on a roster last season, just to see if he just might be better than a guy that didn't end up making our team last year, is beyond me. Is there a down side, other than possibly having to drop our 14th WR to make a temporary spot?

If you looked at it that way, it'd make sense to sign every single player that some other team releases. After all, they might be better than someone we have.

Heck, we'd be churning the bottom of the roster three or four times a week at that rate. And if you're constantly letting guys go, how exactly do you find the time to determine  weather the guys you have really are any good?

The front office watches who's available quite closely. If they thought he were worth it, they'd pursue him.

Right now, it looks like they don't.

Looks more like about a player a week, but yes, that's pretty much how it usually works. You don't have to give every guy a season. Drop Mike Palardy, pick up Mike Scifres, see how it goes. Keep shuffling until we get the roster we want. http://www.panthers.com/news/transactions.html

If you only give a guy a week, you're not evaluating.

You're guessing and hoping.

I feel our RB depth is good enough as is...

DG brought in a couple of RB for camp but I think we will go into the season with the same depth as last year.

RB needs to be addressed over the next year or so due to Stewart getting some miles on his legs. Next years RB depth in the draft is big!!! There are several RB's with real star potential! There is one right down tobacco road...Hood. I think the kid is going to be special! He has speed like the Bernard but also power like Means!!! Next years draft is where DG grabs our RB of the future!

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
