Seriously we had ONE HORRIBLE game and just came out and had a statement game...I don't really see why anyone would be depressed or jumping ship...

Personally I'm looking at this one as a Win-Win

Jake has Confidence back...

On the other hand it goes down as a Loss...

IDK That's me...I was mainly looking for Jake to rebound now I'm really looking for a win Next week.

i agree that this wasnt a bashing or heart breaking as last week, but i dont think i have fully recovered.. i am not jumping ship though.. i love the panthers and will support them no matter if the are 1-15 or 12-4

0-2 in your OWN DIVISION is not a win-win we are overall bad in the worst way, a statement game shows others what kind of panthers to expect when they play them from here on out...if you call this a statement game our standards and the panthers standards must be terribly low...IMHO

No such thing as a statement game when your coming off a 12-4 season and you were one field goal short of being tied for the best record in the entire NFL

I mean Their really shouldn't be "statement" games in the NFL...but when your QB comes off of 5 and 4 INT games you take what you can get for the time being...

He has his confidence back...We know we are a capable team...The D played well at Philadelphia, The O played Well at Atlanta...

COMBINE THOSE TWO...

AND WE GET A GREAT MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAME

LMAO

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
