If the 90's era of the NBA was watered down, then the current NBA is downright awful.

75% of the teams right now are practically hot garbage at best.

Agreed, you can have a terrible team with zero superstars make the Playoffs.  NBA is just odd right now.

Haha I knew some people would talk about how great the 90s were. Keep on believing that if you want, I said "the average NBA player is leagues better than they were in the 90s" and that's very true.

Let's look at the 95-96 season (Bulls went 72-10) for instance:

  • There were 2 expansion teams: Toronto and Vancouver
  • The 8 seed's were barely over .500 and under .500 (respectively)
  • 7 teams won under 30 games (pretty much 25% of the league)
  • The Sacramento Kings made the playoffs with this roster (but you had to have a superstar apparently)

The 90s had some good players in it and the game was a lot different, but for some reason people that aren't even fans of basketball claim it to have the best players ever. Which is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But the talent pool of the NBA is much deeper than it was in the 90s, and to even debate that is really hilarious. Just statistically there are a lot more people than 20 years ago, and training regiments now compared to then are night and day.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there has always been awful teams make the playoffs in the NBA. I checked 3 seasons and there are some truly bad teams here (especially that Boston team).

The 7th seed when the Bulls won 72 games had Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway on the Heat.  Just stop with your poo dude.  Only young dumb people believe that the NBA was watered down then.

Yes it was so watered down with

Michael Jordan

Scottie Pippen

Reggie Miller

Charles Barkley

Karl Malone

David Robinson

Hakeem Olajuwon

Shaquille O'Neal

Alonzo Mourning

Patrick Ewing

Larry Johnson

Grant Hill

Shawn Kemp

Gary Payton

Penny Hardaway

Jason Kidd

Chris Mullin

Tim Hardaway

Mitch Richmond

Paul

maybe Paul George

I mean John Starks old ass would probably be All-NBA 2nd team now

Take the 12 best NBA players, all of them right now and pit them against the 12 best from 1996 and the 1996 team would win literally every game. Let LeBron get his points and laugh to a 20-point blowout

12 best from 96

Stockton-PG

MJ-SG

Pippen-SF

Malone-PF

Hakeem-C

Payton-PG

Reggie Miller-SG

Rodman-SF/PF

Hill-SG/SF

Robinson-PF/C

Mourning-PF/C

Shaq-C

Shaq is last on my list but not least.  Whenever I wanted this team to butt fug the new era team he would go in.

I also put in Rodman because these new era cats would get so ate up at him they wouldn't play their games right.
