An Attitude Change

Look at the Jets. Basically the same team, Favre out, Sanchez in. Other than that it is the same team. What changed? The Coach! A coach with attitude and a fire for winning at any cost. One man completely changed the team. And yet when we change our DC we look exactly the same or worse at times.

But I will say Fox did not look happy after yesterdays loss. He actually looked pissed, lips were tight and he was walking fast for him. Do you think a change will really happen or will it be the same "it is what it is" attitude? I haven't seen the post game interview yet, to know if he is pissed. Anybody have a link to it?

Someone is going to have to get angry and get to work.

At best, we look like an average team, shooting for 8-8. At worst, we look hapless. The offense is nowhere as strong as last year and the defense looks mushy.

Don't even get me started on our special teams. Let's just say that they must take the short team bus to the games.

But if this game doesn't light a fire under them, then I don't know what will.

It is on NFL.com under videos.

This week, it's "There are no cupcakes in this league."

Call me crazy but this team reminds me of the team the Bucs traded for Gruden so he could kick them in the A$$ and get them to the big dance. That's exactly what we need as we do have a lot of talent I just think Fox's message has finally stop working the players are just not responding to it anymore. Gruden could be brought in just kinda to motivate this team and just use the same O scheme and let him work on this Cover 2. Lets face it I don't think we could get much worse.

and drafting a fine QB with their first round pick...oh, wait.

This is one of the most disappointing thing I have noticed about our team. Remember a few years back when Jenkins and Peppers were jaw jacking about how our D-line was better than Tampa's? Or remember our first season when Del Rio was our DC? During those years our defense would come out and dominate....They would knock you down, spank your ass, and kick your dog as they walked away. Back then John Fox was a hungry HC that took over this team and said he wasn't taking any crap from players that don't perform. Back then we won some and lost some but at least we could see the emotion and heart in the way we played.

I remember when Fox/Del Rio was riding Deon Grants ass all week long and he responded by coming out in the Minnesota game and had 3 or 4 picks (that was in the Randy ratio days).

Somewhere along the way.....Coach Fox has become complacent and lost his edge. Our defense is supposed to beat you up - instead we find ourselves getting pummeled on Sunday. Our team looks about as inspired as a wet wash cloth and there is good old Coach Foxy, standing on the sideline, chewing his gum, and clapping his hands like a wind up monkey.

He's been here too long. It's around this point in the tenure of long-running coaches where they lose their fire and need to step away for a year or two. He needs a change of scenery and we need a new coach. I think there's only one reasonable solution to this....

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
