Pre-Season Game One Reps

Harbingers

Recommended Posts

How do you guys see the reps being split tomorrow?

Im guessing one series with Cam and a majority of the firsts, if we score they pull them, if we don't maybe two. Not like last year. A quarter for Anderson and the rest of the game for Webb?

On defense do you think they will even put the vets in? Or really focus on the rookie cornerbacks for the first half to a third of the game and go to depth to clean up, or something more standard.

Cheers Guys, sorry if I missed a reps thread elsewhere.

Expect 1 drive from the offensive starters, minus maybe Benji and Stew for more than a few plays if at all.

Expect the defense to let the vets take the night off for the most part, aside from a few plays on Baltimore's first series. The rookie DBs will get a good chunk of the first half, and maybe into the third.

DA will get the majority of the reps at QB with Webb maybe getting some 4th quarter time.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
