Will Wegher get any time with the ones?

I really liked what I saw out of Wegher and CAP in practices, even though the backups made them look way worse than they are. That said, our next #1 is not on the roster. The RB class is so deep next year that I really hope we spend a high pick on it. You should see some real talent falling to the end of he first. I'd love to see someone like Chubb end up taking over for Stewart. The class is deep enough that RBs that would have gone a lot higher will be there for us.

It's also a deep DE class as well, which after last night we need some more young talent.

If his knee can recover to 100%, Chubb is a mudderfarking BEAST.

No, he had 1 slip. The rest was awful line play. Fight me in real lyfe.

I love how some players get to be huddle favorites and everyone makes excuses for him and blame the line when Wegher fell down more than one time with no contact. Look I am the first to sing a players praises and look at the positives but I am sure when they watch film of Wegher the conversation won't be about just the line. As well as Wegher did last year, he was the total opposite this game. Hopefully he comes back and has a great game next week. But last night was not good and if he doesn't improve big time, he won't make the 53

I just feel Fournette is the kind of back more suitable to typical pro-sets.

Whereas Chubb IMO would slot just fine into a read-option.

As always, I could be 100% wrong... lol.

we do all types of run from power , tackle ,in & outside zone , iso

Its not like Panthers dont take advantage of players skillset and tunes the offense lol.

its actually a combo but we do a lot of solo with J-stew

Yes.

But if it's half solo, half read-option, that would tell us that it would be better to have a read-option RB that is adept at running out of pro-sets as well (like Chubb... and, again, that's just MO).

I think Fournette is an amazing RB... I just believe he's more of the TYPICAL pro-set RB.  That's all I'm saying.

I don't care if Wegher makes the team or not but him slipping is on the equipment people for not making sure he had the proper cleats. If he had tripped over his own feet that would be on him, him slipping because he can't get traction is not.

I agree that slipping can often be attributed to bad equipment.

But I also have to say I didn't notice anyone else slipping last night.

I saw one of two other players slip at least once. They were away from the current play when it happened though so it didn't matter.

Also while I can't confirm this a lack of traction from bad cleats could have definitely contributed to how bad our backup lines played overall(or they could just really suck).

I like Chubb, but Fournette is BPA all day. He is  similar to Todd Gurley who we would have taken if he dropped.

LA Rams don't run read-option.

Carolina Panthers do.

BPA might not include a player that's never run a read-option play in his football career.  UGA included a some of those plays in their playbook while Gurley was there.

LSU has *not*.
