Back in the 70's there was this thing called the Church of Monday Night Football, based in Southern California somewhere. Anyway, it was a pseudo- church, owing their faith and allegiance to the game of football on Monday nights.

Absolutely, but not before Him. I'm not sure about other religions, but Christian belief is that one cannot fully care for a family without Christ being the standard for their own life. In an earthly sense, yes family always comes first. But in the grand scheme of things, it's necessary to have God as one's primary priority. Maybe a better way to think about it is this: if you focus your life around acting like Jesus, you really won't go wrong in how you treat your family.
