Cam getting a concussion was his fault

But the definition of "launched" is feet off the ground, that didn't happen here.

The dude stopped to gather himself and then his back foot came off when he jumped to lead into cams upper body... That's launching in my eyes, he also hit cam and fell off balance because he didn't have his feet underneath him.....

The word is out that you can target Newton's head and the NFL won't do poo. You might get a fine at the most, but your hit will throw Cam off his game at the very least or take him out of the game like today. I guarantee this is being discussed by our opponents.

Hell even our own fans are blaming Cam now...

Yeah. I see most of what you're saying, but I see a defender first closing off the angle and then trying to get the runner stopped before they cross the goal line... I see what you're seeing to feel the way you do though.

Only in as much as if he had run hard into the end zone without pulling up early he wouldn't have got hit - same thing most of us (and Cam himself) said after the game in NO last year when the same thing happened.

No it wasn't, it's the League allowing players to continually blast him helmet to helmet.

I'm gonna defend my QB.

There's only one thing about this gig I don't like and that's cam re piling before the shot. Usually he's down to truck somrone at the goal line I've never seen him so tentative

Know what the best way to keep a person from crossing the goal line is?

Keep your feet under you and retain your leverage.  Leverage is your biggest ally against a larger opponent.

Deion Jones is 230 lbs soaking weight.  Cam Newton is near 260.  A 230 lb man doesn't leave his feet to stop a bigger man's momentum.

A 230 lb MIGHT, however, leave his feet to accomplish something else against a bigger, TALLER man.  Wanna guess what that might be?

LOL, Cam can do no wrong with some of you wackos. The fact is he let up and was thinking about his celebration when he got hit right on the goal line. He has done this before and he got lit up then too. You can whine about him being 2 inches over the line if you want, but RB's get hit at the goal line all the time and Cam was runner on that play. You can't reasonably expect the defender to let up just because Cam did.

Exactly. I love Cam but this one is one him.

Cam actually got hit after he passed the end zone.

That is just a technicality....I mean you would need replay to show he crossed the line.  Atlanta defender should and did blow him up at the goal. That was the right football play.

Cam is far from my main complaint in regards to our current team.  But I a officially ready for his first down pointing, dancing, etc to stop for a bit.  He needs to set the tone of what football needs to be.

Arod had one kinda simular to this last week or so.. teams almost fought not sure if they threw flag... probably did...

ARod was at least a yard into the end zone whern he got hit in the ribs.

WR and OL stood the defender up afterwards and they got flagged for yelling at him or something like that, probably "taunting".

Was hit well after crossing the line and wasn't a big hit or hit to the head so not exactly the same, but an interesting comparison.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone and we have Taylor Moton inked to a recent extension. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
