LOL Hurney was the Oprah of GM's...

YOU get a overpriced contract, YOU get an overpaid contract.....

In fact, if he would have been a little better we wouldn't be dealing with dollar store dave right now.

I never said he was a good cap guy but that was what he was known for.

Gettleman worked his work up as a scout he is a football guy. Look up what Tom Coughlin had to say about how much film he watched.

Hurney was once known for his ability to work the cap. Look at his last 4 drafts then come back.

The panthers hired Gettleman for his cap knowledge

Hurney at least hit on his fist round picks, Gettleman picked two backs ups

You need more than 1st round picks to win.

Not really, they hired him for the cap

You need first round talent to win. Something Gettleman hasn't done the last two drafts

Hurney was brought in to manage the cap when Polian left and Capers took the helm as GM. He was promoted to GM after Capers and Seifert failed to do it on their own.

Gettleman was brought in due to his eye for talent and what we were told was his ability to fill out a roster with talent. His cap skills were negligible, and that is apparent. He just hordes the money, refuses to pay for top tier talent, and over pays to secure mediocre talent. He does a basic 50/50 split on the payroll budget.

Gettleman was hired to put together a roster that would be able to register winning records in consecutive seasons. He has been unable to do what he was hired to accomplish barring a miracle this season. Instead, he has had the opposite effect of destroying teams from 2013 and 2015 that were highly competitive.

If the biggest failure by a front office in NFL history does not get him fired, then nothing will.

The coaches can not do much with what they were given at DE and DB. Had one of the best defenses in the NFL until Gettleman got a hold of it. This is worse than gutting the WRs and screwing around with the OTs to start 2014.

Belichick, Carroll, or Arians would have been openly pissed with a GM pulling this kind of poo.

Wait, you still think that gutting the WR's was a bad move? Oh wow

Same team from last year minus norman and add KB.

Yea DG really fugged us.......

Not the same team. Last year our day 1 DBs were Peanut, Norman, Coleman and Harper.  That is how we survived with only DT play last year on the DL.  Vets and a stud.

As far as the rest goes...staying the same makes you worse.  Team try it and it is proven.  Places in need were evident all over the roster and we sat on it.  All this was discussed in the offseason
