Why I Don't Blame Ron for Our On-Field Problems

At least not primarily.  He isnt the problem.  Yes, he is horrible in game management and some of his decisions are mind boggling.  But, how much of that was an issue last year?  Or the other year he won coach of the year?  They werent visible because we were winning.  And what does that tell you?

I go back to the old cliche that my old basketball coach used to recite..."sometimes it isn't the Xs and Os, as much as it is the Jimmys and the Joes."

He is bereft of talent along the line and backfield defensively, at the o-tackles, and to a degree, the recieving corps.  Great players with great chemistry can make an average coach look great.  Bad players with no chemistry can make an average coach look worse, and you're seeing that now.

The lack of talent and experience in the positions mentioned previously are so glaring that there is no masking it, and as result, other deficiencies become more evident as you dedicate more time and resources towards trying to do so.

Sure, at some level, the superbowl loss has had a hangover effect, but most of this is due to a lack of capable players and adequate upgrades following the superbowl loss.  There is no other way around it.

My only real gripe with Rivera is that he isnt vocal or outspoken enough in protecting Cam or in speaking up against the league's horrible officiating.  If I trusted that we would hire a BETTER coach if Ron was dismissed, then great, that would be ideal...  a real strategist, brilliant Xs and Os kind of guy would be awesome, but they dont grow on trees.  So, if you gave me a choice of how to fix this, it lies with more with management than coaching.

Ron doesn't receive coach of the year, etc. by not being a good coach.  What's going on?  Yes, I'd like to know too.  Gettleman and Ron are not on my poo list.  They have worked around cap hell and did some good things.  Last year was the unusual year.  We celebrated all the wins and jumped for joy of the greatness we were.  Things fell in place.  This year is still part of the building phase that Gettleman is trying to do.  We will win more games this year.  We may still make the play offs.  I'm not throwing in the tail just yet.  I'm looking for even a greater team next year.

If you don't put blame on him you can't also give him credit for previous things.

Sheeeeeeit...  gettleman's on my poo list.

And again, i think ron is more of a figurehead coach.  He can run the team through the paces throughout the week, he gets them in a regimen, etc., but he is, at best, an average NFL coach when it comes to on-field game managemwnt and decision making.

This has always been a problem under Ron we always start off slow under Ron. The years he won coach of the year was under Dave. He only has 2 winning season out of 5 and on he's way to another losing season. But Ron is not to blame.

Lol, where did i give him credit?  I swear...

Was i not clear enough in saying players make an average coach look good or bad, depending on their performance?  Did i not point out his horrible game management and mistakes?  I didnt say anything flattering about rivera.

Don't forget to take out your tampon. I was talking in general terms of everyone acting like it's all on the gm.

Dont forget to watch your tone.

Maybe if youre talking in "general terms," you shouldnt quote one person?
