Thanks

I really want to know how Gettleman treated him on his way out hence why I posted the gif twice.

You want to know?  Re-read the article, he tells you.  Because otherwise, at this point, you're just intentionally being difficult.

Beason wasn’t thrilled with some of his conversations with Gettleman that preceded the deal.

He really did not expand on the conversations. The conversations could have went like this

Gettleman: We're moving on to Chase Blackburn / AJ Klein

Beason: But I can still play

Gettleman: I watched the Buffalo/Seattle tapes

How can we speculate on the conversations without context, maybe the conversation was harsh to a once great player who loss a step. We do not know what was said. But you will use it to further the Gettleman sucks narrative.

I like you frash, but now we're just kinda entering delusional territory here a bit. I get you gotta "stick up for yo GM", but Beason was a two time All-Pro before the string of injuries. He obviously wasn't the best LB of all time or something absurd, but he wasn't a bum either. Let's not get too carried away here with the use of selective memory.

The use of strange logic to deflect from Gettleman's mistakes very much reminds me of the rationalization used with Hurney's questionable moves.

I liked Beason a lot too until Kuechly hit the field and not only collected tackles, but made other people around him play better as well, which is something I never saw out of Beason.

also just because somebody doesn't agree with your outlook, doesn't mean you should automatically categorize them. Keep an open mind.

I see your point. There is certainly truth to that. But it doesn't always work out that way. Luke isn't exactly looking other worldly right now, or making other players around him look like pro bowlers. Does that mean he is average, or just forgot how to play football? Circumstances have to be taken into consideration sometimes. We know Luke is much better than how he, and the rest of the defense have played thus far.

I'm not trying to categorize you here, just going by your posts. The use of selective memory applied to guys like Beason, or Steve Smith now that they are no longer here, and questioned the front office is an interesting dynamic that unfortunately doesn't always end up making a whole lot of sense for either side. That's all I'm saying.

Let's not be revisionists and let's not pretend we know what everybody was thinking back in ancient history. I'm sure Beason was far down the list of players I was criticizing during the dark ages (09-12) but that's irrelevant at this point.

and as far as Steve Smith is concerned, he has a lot of flaws. As demonstrated freshly off his take on Josh Brown, he categorizes violence as acceptable or not acceptable depending on the recipient. And that I just don't support at all. The best way to curb domestic violence is to reject all violence. If you think that women should not be abused but then you support corporal punishment and you cheer on Danny Reagan shooting the MOTW to death on Bluebloods then you're still part of the problem. I don't know what Smith is like as a parent in his household but it's obvious he condones at least some forms of violence based on those comments and his history punching his teammates.

A win last week wouldn't have stopped the Gettleman hate.

it would've greatly quieted the noise..Cam throws 300, 3TD in a win and all of sudden every problem thats been there would suddenly be  swept under the rug..even tho a lot people have been saying its an issue

maybe even in a win the defense was Swiss cheese last week which would brought more Norman threads, Gettleman ruined the team, etc.

Whose to say that those players will be willing to resign..whose to say he won't  treat kk the same way or any of the core people...the future is now not later Cam and luke have been here 6 and 5 yrs ..Both arre signed true but the way Dave has handle things will make it hard for FA to want to come here..look how this team look..nobody seems happy except Gano.

the players aren't happy because the team is 1-5, not because of some manufactured drama between the FO and the team. and almost all good teams aren't build through splashy FA acquisitions anyway, its about drafting well and keeping your players from leaving in FA.

The moves done this year were not necessary

in essence, not only did Gettleman lose all secondary continuity, he then turned around and wasted 3 draft picks to cover  up that knee jerk decision with Norman, add that to letting our best corner walk and getting absolutely nothing for him

This was atrocious

Those three draft picks could have gone far to infuse this team in key areas that need a talent upgrade  and god knows there is more than one

this is over and done now but if anyone on this board thinks that scenario was not noticed by the players, that would be a mistake

We traded up so it would be four draft picks used on cornerbacks.

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
