No thread on Dave Chappelle hosting SNL?!?!?

Shame on all of you...

Not only did he kill it, but SNL took a couple of shots at the Panthers IMHO.

There was one skit where Dave was watching a game on the couch with his buddies. He had on a Panthers hoodie and Kenan had on a Cam Jersey. Turns out, Dave was a 43 y/o man that lives at home and still drinks his mom's breastmilk. That describes a lot of you I bet.

Anyways, Leslie Jones played his mom, and at one point she says something like "Man, that Cam Newton is something else!"

Earlier on in the episode, they had a skit in which they had a post-skit breakdown and press conference. I felt like it was a shot at Newton, too. Maybe I am just too sensitive about my QB but it just stung a bit.

The crown jewel though saw Dave reenact the Negan scene from TWD in which he included some of his past characters. It was gold.

Bring back Chappelle's Show, PLEASE!

I didn't take the Panthers gear/skit as a shot at Cam at all, but that's just me.

As for the episode, it's two fold for me.

A. It was amazing. Dave killed it, from the monologue, to the TWD skit, to just being Dave and allowed to say whatever the fug he wanted and get away with it. (Side note, a big F-U to WRAL in Raleigh for censoring the episode.)

B. It was sad...because SNL could always be that, or damn close to it, but won't be. SNL is best when it's a little weird, crazy, and takes chances. Some will hit, some will miss, but that show Saturday night had balls...something that has been missing from seasons lately. From seeming like a new episode of Chappelle's show, to having ATCQ perform, to a random slapstick breastfeeding skit, to TWD skit that was topical with current tv/politics, etc....Saturday night was peak SNL for me. See you again in a couple of years, hopefully.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
