We haven't had a 1000 yard rusher in 6 going on 7 seasons

Partially because of Stew's injury trouble, partially because Tolbert took some of those carries as a FB which is unusual, and mostly because of Cam's carries per game cutting into the number of rushing attempts our RB take. If Stewart was an every down back somewhere, he'd obviously get more yards. However, he's not durable enough for that role so it's a moot point.

You talking about Dallas and you acknowledge the OL as the reason for success then counter with Carolina the success, or lack there of, on the RB...

our OL consistented of a backup LT, backup C, and backup RT.  That is why we could do nothing on the ground.  They can't run block.  Couldn't vs KC.  Jags OL is better than the one we had on Sunday

So Stewart needs the best O-line in the league to be successful?

Throw away this season, from 2012-15 Stewart hasn't averaged more than 4.3 ypc in all those 4 seasons combined, that's the definition of mediocre.

Best OL? Not at all.

He needs better than the backup LT, backup C and backup RT that were in front of him Sunday if he is going to run against a decent front 7 though

Stewart is not the issue right now.  Saints front is weaker and hopefully Kalil plays....if he does and we aren't forced out of the run because of score he should be about a 100 yard rusher tonight

Stewart was essentially a 1000 yard caliber RB last season.  He has 989 in 13 games.

so the team benefited from what a 1000 yard rusher brings to the table for most of the season

Stewart isn't the issue this year.  Fozzy could be a 1200+ yard RB behind the Cowboys OL.  Stewart can't get outside the tackles because our OT can't run block

We can run to the right just need to get healthy with Kalil

Kalil historically has been very underrated as a run blocker.  He is underrated in about all aspects IMO even if on a decline

While I think Big Vern will be a contributing player for us in the future, I still wish we would have grabbed Derrick Henry in the 1st round.  I feel like his running style would have been perfect for the Panthers and we could have let Stewart go after this year to save a bunch of $$.
