Ah those pesky stats. Those "I'll tell you what you want, and I'll never lie to you." pieces of information.

I will say this for stats. If you can make them sing, they do make beautiful music.

So you are willing to admit that is our standing that has you frustrated, not the actual play by the kids? And you are still alive, right? No limbs fell off? Good for you.

I know this year is/was a waste win lose wise. But one bright spot is the growth of Bradberry, and Worley. And let us not forget Johnson, as he has played very well in the slot. Good times.

I'm done with silver linings I want to win

Exactly. The rookies played better as the season went on and it will be interesting to see how they play together next year

Thanks for the support. Sometimes what comes out on paper is not what I was thinking. So it is kind of neat when it all seems to work.

I enjoy your posts and agree for the most part.  I think I am more critical of Shula than any individual player.  8 of 13 is all I can say.  8 of 13 games we have failed to score a TD after half time.   Sad and this lies on Shula.

Like you though frustrated that our season is done.  I do believe next season we'll bounce back.

Other coaches might make it 70-19 with our talent.

Just kidding but you know our coaches need to do it better.

I am in no way absolving our coaching staff of all culpability. They do deserve part of the blame, and there is plenty of blame to go around. But IMO, the one main bump in the road is Offensive play calling. Shula built a great Offense. The problem being, he doesn't' know how to run his own Offense.

Other than that. Most of our missteps this year were overcomeable. It was not just one thing over and over, it was a mishmash of things piling up on each other. Last year was a perfect storm in our favor. This year that storm has kicked our buttocks. Big time.

I don't see this "they" stuff

I see the potential in Bradberry, I don't see it in Worley, and Zach is garbage. 2 wasted picks I see in my opinion.

Most folks seem to be with you on this. Most see Bradberry as an up and comer. They will begrudgingly admit that the pick was okay. Worley has this board divided on him. Some see him as a rookie CB with upside, who seems to be on an upward trajectory. Some just see the rook, and that's about it. So with Worley it all depends on your own personal agenda. Like him, or hate him, the kid has earned the right to be on the field. And IMO that ain't bad for a 3rd round rook.

Sanchez? Who cares. If it weren't for injuries, we would have forgotten all about him by now. Not really surprising a 5th round CB didn't make an impact. So I am not holding a grudge on him. He tried, he just isn't good enough.

The picks were not a waste. They may have shored up our CB position for a long time. But, I will say that the Josh situation does make these picks seem...well wasted. I just don't like going through all the hoops talking about Josh brings.

It's been a collective f*ck up. But we blew it this offseason. Yeah we lost some close games but with even just an adequate performance from our OL we likely wouldn't have been in so many disadvantageous situations like that where the margin of error in crucial moments was razor thin. It started with SB50, and went all downhill from there. The writing was on the wall.

If someone wants to put that "we'll get em' next year" spin on this while we waste another year of Cam/Luke in their prime, okay, that's their perogative. But not everyone is willing to accept that anymore, and there is nothing wrong with that. We need more of it honestly.

I know this will not shock you. But man, almost every one of us want to win. And after last year, almost all of us thought we were going to continue doing so.

Frustration is the new orange up in here. It is impossible to ignore how this year has killed folks mojo. But with that said. What else do we have besides the future? And if that is what we have. Why not try and look at it with at least some optimism?

I am not going to try and convince anyone that this year was anything but what it was. A complete kick in the money sack. So the frustration is warranted. But...and this is a good but. There really is reason for optimism going forward. Lots of money, a good draft slot, a solid core, and Cam, and Luke. Good times ahead, I tell ya what.

I am really looking forward to their growth together. If it works out anywhere near how is looks. They could make a great pair.

I love these two kids. It really does kinda suck how they came to be Panthers though. I hate bringing up Josh, but the what ifs are down right staggering.

Again, that's the problem. There's always optimism going forward and good times ahead. You just get tired of the same old script by the same director.

Shula has designed a great Offense, he really has. Not sure many folks can really argue that. But dang, I truly wish he actually knew how to run it.

It's like designing the world best sex toy, but not knowing how to turn the dab burn thing on.

Hard to argue with it from last years offense.  What I believe is teams have figured out a way to stop it and Shula has no answer.   I keep bring it up and will post at the end how many out of 16 but 8 of 13 games we have failed to score an offensive touchdown after halftime. It is terrible.  We score fine in the first half so the "injury" theory goes out the door.

Perfect comparison by the way.....  Another reason why I think Turner would be the best replacement because I don't think he would change much.  Just know how to turn the damn thing on.....lol

For the most part, I don't think many folks would disagree with anything you said.

That said. Even with the absolute mess this season has become, there is just too dang many areas where blame can be thrown to actually have a decent answer on fixing this mess.

I will say this, if we go by popular opinion, Shula would seem to be the leader in the clubhouse. And IMO, that is pretty close to  the best answer.

Even as bad as this year has been, and it's been a giant stinker. With better situational play calling, we very well could be much better shape record wise. Shula created a great Offense. He just doesn't know how to actually use it properly.

I am so torn. Part of me wants Shula around to run this Offense. But a bigger part of me wants an OC capable of bringing out the best this Offense has to offer. I love the potential of this Offense. I just wish we could actually see it run at its best.

Well, to be honest, we did just come off 3 straight Playoff appearances. So it's not like we are climbing our way out of the gutter around here.

    • Am I reading this right? We've had awful QB play for over half a decade...and we'd pass on Dak because he has no "clutch gene" or can't get it done in the playoffs--something we haven't sniffed and have no reason to believe we will for years to come?!? Sorry, but this sounds like a starving man turning down a box of crackers because they're Great Value instead of Ritz. If a Great Value QB is available when you have none, there is no deliberation needed.
