Offense struggling, let's draft more defense

People in this forum really want to draft more defensive players? Really? Are we the Carolina Jets?

What are Adams, Barnettt, Garrett going to do? Will they help Cam develop? catch passes? block for Cam?

This organization and its fanbase has lost touch with today's NFL.

I feel defensive players tend to have a more immediate impact.   When you are picking in the top 10, you want someone who makes an immediate difference.

I am not condoning this,  just explaining the mindset.

I disagree

Vernon Butler vs Hunter Henry (Decker)

And before anyone uses Shula as scapegoat just know he will most likely be here next season. So you either give him some help or expect the same.

Why in gods name does Rivera need more defensive players anyways? He should be able to develop late round picks

it's hard to argue for a 1st round OT this year. there are like 2 guys and one is likely not going to be on our board. maybe i'm wrong, but i feel like it'd be a failure to draft a RB top-10. same for a WR.

the best players in this draft are defense.

I'd rather take OT, TE, RB in rounds 2-3.

to be completely honest, i think we're screwed at LT again next year. we have Oher, but there are no good FAs, there is not much at the top of the draft, and I don't know about us trading for one-- maybe that's our best hope (to get Joe Thomas or Staley for a 3rd rounder).

i get that there are 2 RBs who are supposedly elite, but man, i remember this board during the late hurney years complaining about our investment in the RB position. i just think such a high pick for an RB without an o-line is a waste. we can get a young talented guy in round 2 and hopefully work on improving the o-line.

for me, the only offensive player worth drafting round 1 would be an OT. there are none.

Wrong. A rookie stud will have impact no matter the position.

You know we have multiple picks...we can't let D fall...I don't see a first round ot ...so why not bolster pass rush...

    • We offered him $25k signing bonus and $225 guaranteed (including bonus) to sign as a UDFA. By making the team and doing well because he joined a team where he could, get this, start some and get almost 500 yards, guess how much he made in just 2024 and 2025? Over $1.7M. So, you really think he went for the most UDFA money or a place where the WR corps would allow him to make an NFL team and earn 8 times the UDFA money in his first two years and potentially cement himself for an even bigger payday of 2026 and beyond. Hmm, I wonder. I think seeing as he was the only UDFA RB, TE or WR to have over 158 yards (didn’t pay to see more stats muse, could have been even lower), he made the right choice on where to go to maximize earnings. Sorry again, but if you really think UDFAs and their agents prefer the small bonus/UDFA guarantee and don’t think about the easiest place to make the team, you’re wrong again. The $$$ you get just by making the team is way more and could get you multiple years. Choose a team you can’t make and your career can be over in one offseason.
    • And that is actually the concern. Great qbs put together FULL seasons of good ball. There is no benching to clear your head or taking a break. Are we gonna get a full season of good play this year?  It's really not hard to understand.
    • rookies coming in for the first time at the end of the week.  Won't get much news, but some pics and some interviews (hopefully) Carolina Panthers Rookie minicamp: May 9-10 OTA offseason workouts: May 27-28, May 30, June 2-3, June 5 Mandatory minicamp: June 10-12
