KK vs a Desean Jackson or high $ FA

Why do we hang on to Ginn if we bring in DJax?  KB-Jackson-Funchess-Olsen-Brown with Byrd learning the ropes to eventually take over.  I'd rather use the extra $$ from letting Ginn go, to offset DJax a little.

I'm not all about bringing Jackson in, but I am about surrounding Cam with as much of a supporting cast as possible. If you figure our SB window is 4-5 years, Jackson could certainly give Cam something he hasn't had since Smitty left. Only this time, it's Cam's team.

we have the cap to do both. however it's hard to imagine having KB, funchess, ginn, and jackson on the same team. one of those three has to be the odd man out. jackson is a big time ginn upgrade, so maybe him.

jackson across from KB is actually your archetypical X/Y combo

How bout the players stay satisfied with making millions a year instead of being incredibly greedy. It's annoying how much these plays demand to be paid.

While this is an easy statement, I disagree.  I think we can all see that the post career life for many athletes is VERY difficult.  Not only do you have to rebuild or transform your body, you also have the looming problems that may well kill you young (CTE and other brain issues).  Were I part of the most valuable sport commodity on the planet right now, I'd command every cent I could.  People are getting rich off the sacrifices of these players, and they deserve their share.

Sure, most of us could live very easily off the average salary of a NFL player.  They have to do a lot more than simply sit on the couch all summer, their job really doesn't stop until they retire.  Constant maintenance can be expensive.

and this is the kind of conservative bs that has kept this franchise in a perpetual state of mediocrity

After this thread played out I agree. If the FO is really adamant against guys with behavioral questions it'll take a combination of luck, a top 5 pick, and/or a ton of cash to ever get a good upgrade over Ginn.  This could very well be the only team's shot at an elite burner for Cam.

I think you're looking at a dangerous combination

With a new OC

It doesn't matter who we bring in. If DB's are jumping your routes 2 games straight, DIVISION opponents you know the teams that really know you, says it all

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
