What Mike Wallace has done in 2 games/ Dewayne Jarrett

Said it before. The Golden Calf of Bristol is one of the nicest kids to ever play the game, but his profile just doesn't translate well to being an NFL QB.

He's a superior athlete, but that doesn't necessarily make him a good quarterback.

To tell you the respect I have for you, you are the only person on this Board that would make me reconsider The Golden Calf of Bristol as a pro QB. But I still think he can be successful if a Coach doesn't try to make him into something hes not, a prototypical drop back passer. If they can incorporate him totally in a system like Urban did in Florida he can be successful.

Appreciated, but in fairness I once thought Eric Crouch would make a great pro QB

(learned from that mistake)

How many passes can a player catch that do not get thrown? Is that too zen for everybody? How about .... Jake Delhomme sucks and can only trust himself to WR who win more jump balls than they lose like Moose and Smith.

Running better routes and getting some separation would help a lot. Being more reliable on those occasions when he is thrown to wouldn't hurt either.

Right now Jarrett looks like the flipside of Keary Colbert. KC had a decent enough work ethic but didn't have the talent. Jarrett has more talent (and size) than Colbert, but has a crappy work ethic and plays like he's disinterested.

Neither combo leads to being a dominant receiver.

Kenny Moore showed up in preseason. Jarrett didn't. That wasn't an accident.

Jarrett will be good when he leaves and goes somewhere (hopefully with a real QB that can read the field). Don't even compare him to Colbert, Colbert got solid #2 WR time in games. He blew it himself with stone hands. Jarrett has hardly gotten chances and when he has, has made some good catches (when of course they aren't on the ground or 15 feet above his head). So Kenneth Moore had a good pre-season, guess what, Jake still don't throw to him (1 catch, right?).

So, if getting the start at WR in pre-season when Smith and Moose were out doesn't count as a chance to you, then what does?

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
