That's why you can't  go solely based on PFF , have to use the eye test as they say.

Only problem with the eye test is that most fans only use their eyes to watch their team.  Maybe a couple other games.  I doubt anyone here watches every game every weekend like PFF does.  Because of this they tend to judge their team or players versus some imaginary standard that is unrealistic instead of relative to everyone else in the league.

Unless we get a sack on every 3rd and long some fan will always complain that we "need more pressure" where as in reality we might lead the league in sacks.

Also a lot of fans around here tend to "see" what fits their preconceived notions.  Often those ideas are formed a few isolated players, good or bad, that could be outliers.

...KK was the most under performing and Star was the most.

I don't believe anyone with any kind of expertise, sans PFF, believes that, at least anymore. For all the hate that Short was getting during the first part of the season, he was still getting a helluva lot of attention, yet still getting some push, and he ultimately ended up comparatively positive in regards to his peers from a production standpoint.

The question with Short was never really about whether or not he is one of the better DTs in the league, it's about how much he is to be paid. What is reasonable, considering his status among his peers?

Short had a few good games but for most of the season it was other DTs getting pressure. I'm not saying he wasn't a focus of other teams but he was completely eliminated once doubled and his job to get sacks. Star on the other hand has been clogging running gaps all of his career and was even getting pressure when not doubled. Star is by far better at what he does than KK is.
