3 round projection has us taking 3 Seminoles.

8. Carolina Panthers: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State

40. Carolina Panthers: DeMarcus Walker, EDGE, Florida State

72. Carolina Panthers: Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State

Cook in the 1st round is a solid pick and has been discussed here before.  I wouldn't be unhappy with this pick.

Roderick Johnson in the 3rd would be nice to have blocking for Cook as they have worked together for a few years.  Can he start right away?  I don't know.  Would need Oher to hang around for at least one more year or bring in a vet to bridge the gap.

DeMarcus Walker in the 2nd?  Heck yeah.  Superb edge rusher that has versatility to play DL with his long arms in passing situations.  Some have him sneaking into the 1st round.  Charles Johnson's replacement?

3 Noles.  Discuss . . . Ready, set, go.

The only RB that should be considered in the top 10 is Fournette. I would be pretty pissed if we take Cook at 8. The other two would be decent picks though

Fournette was already off the board in this draft.  Maybe Malik Hooker taken 2 picks later by the Bills would have suited you better?

Cook may be a top 10 back, but I don't think he fits what we're trying to do, so I agree.

Yeah, I just have a hard time taking RB so high. There are amazing RBs that come out of nowhere so often that taking one top 10 better damn near be a lock hall of famer to be worth it.

David Johnson- 3rd round

Jamaal Charles- 3rd round

Le'veon Bell- 2nd round

LeSean McCoy- 2nd round

Devonta Freeman- 4th round

Hell, guys like Arian Foster and Willie Parker went undrafted. To make a top 10 pick worth it, you better damn sure be getting the next Adrian Peterson or LaDanian Tomlinson. Otherwise it's just not worth drafting that position so high.

So am I the only person that isn't keen on picking a RB in the first round? Honestly think there could be a much better pick than that at #8.

I do agree but still wouldn't be disappointed with Cook. Malik Hooker or Solomon Thomas are the only other two left on the board at this point that I would consider a good pick for us.

If you're putting it like that, I'd definitely not pick Cook. Especially with a day one starter like Hooker. Heck even Thomas.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
