People just don't get why we're over the moon

Man am I sick of having to explain myself tonight. People have killed me for "rooting for the Patriots". Nobody outside of us gets it. And look, I understand why the rest of the country was rooting for the Falcons. The Patriots are the evil empire. But people act as if we should just completely ignore our top rivalry. So I was not rooting for the Patriots to win, I was rooting for the Atlanta freaking Falcons to lose.

AND GOD ALMIGHTY, DID THEY LOSE.

The amount of hate I unleashed in real life and on Twitter (heelsrule1988 if you want to see for yourself... can't post here because of some uncharacteristic bad language hahaha) is unhealthy lmao. Holy crap. All this after I was sick to my stomach over the horrible outcome that seemed certain. After 28-3, I stopped watching a Super Bowl for the first time since XXXV (we all went outside to throw the football when the Ravens went up big) and went upstairs to play with the kids at the party I was at. Then one of my friends texted me and told me the Patriots were within a score and about to get the ball back. So I headed back downstairs to watch, begging the Patriots not to screw with my emotions. And what unfolded was the most glorious football result I've ever seen that did not involve my beloved Panthers. We really could not have hoped for them to lose in a better way. This was so much better than if the game had been a shootout. They were up 28-3, folks. 28-3. TWENTY-EIGHT TO THREE. An absolute CHOKE of truly epic proportions. They can't say a DAMN thing to us anymore. The Warriors are COMPLETELY off the hook... this will be the new 3-1 joke now. It was so, so beautiful. In the course of two hours, I went from wishing I didn't care about football to being SO fired up for next season. Now the ball is back in our court to make the Falcons the only team in the NFC South without a ring. Minneapolis or BUST, my dear fellow Panthers fans.

Oh, and one more thing. Matt Ryan... GET THE FUG OFF THE FIELD.

All my friends that are Raider fans were rooting for the Falcons and asking how I could go for New England. I told them I hate Atlanta more than anyone and asked how they felt about Denver winning last year.

Anyone that roots for our division rivals to win based on some weird complex of oh at least our division is the best can kiss my ass. I'd rather TB be the goat and Matt Ryan choke in epic fashion.

if I live to be a hundred years old this day won't get old, and I'll use it against ATL fans for as long as the Lord gives me control of my faculties.

Eat poo Atlanta.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only person out here who feels this way. People act like we're crazy for rooting for the Pats, but the Falcons are our blood enemies... and they lost in the absolute perfect way. I agree that it was exhausting telling people that I always root for the underdog in a football game.... unless it's Matt Ryan and the Falcons.

If you had seen some of the posts on FB taunting Panthers fans. We're going to be "the laughing stock of the NFCS," they said. "Quinn > Rivera, Ryan > Cam, Blank > Richardson, and Dimitroff > Gettleman," they said. They just went on and on...Just like Falcon fans to count their eggs before they've hatched.

And here I was thinking that Cowboys fans were the cockiest fan base of all, all these years. The fact is Falcon fans took cock to a new level. Now they can take it right in the throat!

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
