You play GM.. CB edition..

WOW!!

You have the money to add a piece to your secondary to help solidify with the young 2nd year Cb's on your team.. Maybe add some vet mentorship to that room..

Who do you go with .. Understanding certain situations with each player..

A. Stephon Gilmore - Will cost money that can be used for other players...  Young entering his prime and has strong area ties..

B. Tramon Williams - Cheaper not as establish as Gilmore.. Would come in and compete with Worleys more or less..

C. Sam Sheilds - older vet with injury history but would provide more of a vet presence than the other 2. Probably cheaper as well..

D. Captain - Fan favorite true leader .. But only a nickle cb..

Who do you choose??

I go with Captain. I think we're committed to rolling with Bradberry and Worley outside and Captain is a very good nickel which is exactly what we need if we're committed to Bradberry and Worley. Given the youth of those two guys, I'd prefer to address the nickel position and SS through FA. Not sure about throwing more inexperienced players on the files in that secondary.

Would love to get Gillmore. But will be too much to have.

Captain would make the most sense just bc of the price.

Would like a Morris Claiborne, Kirkpatrick or Nolan Carroll.

However, probably make more sense taking a younger guy in the 2nd or 3rd to play nickle.

Desmond King fits our defense a lot. A zone corner. At 40 if he's there and you like him.

I'm drafting a guy. Maybe two if the value is there later in the draft. I'm not paying a fading veteran when I can draft equal or better talent to groom for the future.

Agree.  Cam Sutton in the 3rd.  Better football player, incredible value in a deep CB draft, and much cheaper.

Can Worley play nickel? I think he's an outside guy, not a nickel/slot guy, so I'd rather go after a nickel guy like Captain. There are also a ton of good CBs in this draft, including some that specifically have been bucketed in a nickel role.

Hes too big to be a nickel. And he's not the most agile guy. Bradberry would be a better nickel.

I also don't understand drafting another one. We have two one year veterans. Why add more inexeperience to that and risk it not panning out? at least even if the veteran blows, he can mentor.

I have to agree with RUmHam.. I don't see the reasoning in adding another inexeperience player when you just draft 3 last year..

I choose vets to add experience and mentorship to that room ..

I can def see drafting a SS to pair with Coleman but another young cb isn't a great idea without seeing what you have with the 3 last year.

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
