Mayock/Eisen talk Mixon and the Combine

Guys we're talking about whether Joe should be allowed to compete at the Combine, Mayock said there are a few guys who did the same thing Joe did but because they settled out of court were allowed to compete.

Both agreed that since someone is going to draft him, why not invite him so that teams can talk to him but not let him compete...

One thing is for sure... he won't be wearing A Panther uniform.

I like Mayock plan of extreme vetting..

If you commit a crime you should have benchmarks to past to get to the combine and more benchmarks when drafted..

It is a horrible thing he did. He will live with that the rest of his life. I am not too up to date on all the details, maybe someone could help me out: he was punished right?

Yes.. Suspended for a year, sued for damages, and did community service..

Now he we'll lose millions as a player and will never see a endorcement deal even if he's good..

Ok thank you. So he's paid the price of his deed. Don't people deserve second chances? Shouldn't he be given a fair shake since he has been punished already? I'm not condoning his behavior, what if he had turned a new leaf?

That's my opinion..

Plus the fact he was a 18 year old kid who made a very dumb mistake.. so yes he deserve a 2nd chance to make good out of a bad situation...

In the end I live in a glass house so i shouldn't throw stones.. At 18 i don't know what i would have done in that situation..

I'd prefer us stay away but it's dumb not to invite him to the combine. Let him come and compete and get grilled by the teams. Hell, maybe the guy changes some minds. Maybe he doesn't, but it's a way for teams to vet the guy without having to use a visit to fly him in. That's a big part of the combine. This is just a bullshit PC move.

Mixon would be considered up there competeing with LF and Cook today in the draft if he were there.  I personally am on the Leonard Fournette train all the way, but this kid Joe Mixon, aside from his terrible action he took against that lady, will most likely put up comparable if not better numbers come his Pro Day since he wasn't invited to the combine.  There are guys at the combine with just as heinous crimes/altercations/allegations,etc.  Kid has paid his dues.  Second chances should be given to the guy.

    • 20 years God could not get an NFL rule changed, now they are rule change addicts. This is just like paying the college players, it went from one extreme side to the other.  Stop and find the middle ground.
    • Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10,  1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them.  This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...
    • Purdy's good but at the end of the day you're paying first class money for a business class seat.  It's a big problem with the salary cap.  QBs take most of it whether they are Pat Mahomes or not.
