Smitty takes blame for the pick6...

Holy crap, he even used my words...he really did screw Jake. Of course, it was so obvious that he had no choice but to admit it though.

I say again, the vast majority of Jake's INT's have come when he targets Steve Smith. Somebody needs to step up and take the pressure off of those two.

hard for anyone to step up when jake won't throw to them.

Jake's not able to make the plays necessary to take the pressure of Smith. Other guys are getting open. He's just not seeing the whole field, and going through his reads properly.

Jake is just forcing the ball to Steve Smith and it's insanely predictable for every defense that plays us.

Jake isn't accurate enough anymore and Smith isn't dominating enough anymore for that to be unstoppable. At this point, Smith shouldn't even get a look when he's in the slot on 3rd down.

I've watched the past 2 games over on tivo... other guys are not getting open and separation.... Steve is the only one who is constantly finding the whole in the defense or getting a little separation.

Too often we have our slow TE's running routes down the field

No one gets open b/c there are no WRs on the field. Moose is old and basically a kickass TE, then we have maybe one other actually TE running a route. That is it. Who is on the field that is suppose to be getting separation.....that is like putting Kasay back in KOs and telling him to kick into the endzone. It just ain't happening except on rare moments.

The other WRs? How many plays were Jarrett and Moore on the field for Monday? Then tell me how many times they struggled to get get open out of those.

jake completed passes to eight different targets on monday night. smith, moose, rosario, king, jarrett, moore, williams, and stewart. if i'm not mistaken he got it to nine versus the falcons... same guys, plus one or two to barnidge.

for all jakes problems, spreading the ball around does not appear to be one of them this year.

The problem is playcalling, packages, and who is on the field. Jake does spread it around.....but the majority of the time the only options on the field not named Smith are Moose and a TE. Moose simply isn't good enough in the recieving aspect of the position. They need to run some formations with 3 WRs that they can also run out of. Jake imo always looks better with a 3rd WR on the field. If he doesn't he is going to force it to Smith in coverage or Moose who simply can't get open.

moose is good on crosses, slants, bootlegs, etc. i'm not sure why they keep giving him go routes and posts... he isn't a go-up-and-get-it type of reciever. hit him in the hands when he's open and he'll catch it.

i agree with the 3WR sets. bring moore out of the slot, match him up on a LBer and see what happens.

LOL I remember in previous seasons when we came out in 4 WR spread sets... Now if we see spread sets there are usually TE's or Slow Wr's involved...Hell I'll take Drew Carter and Keary Colbert right now!!!

Maybe just Carter...

Jarrett has proven in a 3 WR set he is effective on Sundays. He just never is out there. Moore can do exactly what Jarrett does if not probably better......Jarrett and Moore> Colbert and Carter. These two guys are NOT put in position to make plays or have an opportunity. But we bash them. Jeff Davidson is just garbage. Most OC's can actually call some plays to get other guys involved instead of repeating the same 9 plays or so over and over that only involve Smitty, Moose, and whatever TE is inserted.

lol at davidson comments... last year everyone thought he was the second coming

just raw talent made plays he got credit for it. Look at some of the beatdowns we put on people, they actual playcalling was pretty lame. We kicked the Bucs teeth in.....and they were shocked b/c they simply couldn't stop the same 5 plays that were repeated. The common theme is teams always know what is coming.
