I'll meet you in Asheville for a beer (<--- misses Asheville's beer, and takes every opportunity to mention this on the Huddle).

:cheers2:

FigNewton, don't be such an e-thug.

I know Asheville does have an excellent selection of local beer. There are some freaks here though.

Banned? I was actually going to answer his question.

Marty Hurney didn't just go from sportswriter to GM (ala Matt Millen). He started at lesser jobs in front offices - under Bobby Beathard for example - and worked his way up. Prior to becoming the Panthers GM, he was their chief contract negotiator and cap manager, the job that right now belongs to Rob Rogers.

So there, the question's answered (after a lot of kefuffel) :sosp:

Everyone is entitled to an opinion...some are good some are bad and some are just out there. There is a place to talk smack and its the smack forum. Threatening people is where I draw the line and he is welcome back in 5 days.

    • I don't think working from memory is going to be very productive or useful. You would need to compare them all, which is far easier to do from the breakdowns of each game. That has tiered charts that give real data.  But, even then that wouldn't substitute for a trained eye(s) doing detailed film analysis to attempt to determine if we are modifying the offense dramatically for Bryce.
    • I think front office and general team culture under new ownership is sort of on the right track. The rookies all look incredible compared to where you'd expect each one of them to be right now. Lee's in game coaching is awful, he might be ok as a culture and developmental guy but that can't outweigh the in-game miscues and bad game plans. If LaMelo can't figure out the ankles then I think you gotta trade him for a haul, can't keep having your seasons lost every year because he can't stay on the court. And I say that as a big fan of him. Miller I think is unlucky, he looks likely to be an elite core player for us, but if he can't put together a stretch of healthy seasons he would trend towards LaMelo and need to be moved. I used to like Miles on the court a lot more but nowadays he's just an empty stat guy who needs to go. The short lived hot start to the season was fun but unless LaMelo and Miller both get and stay healthy within the next few weeks I can't even see us being a play-in team this year. And even if they do get healthy, we're probably looking at play-in at best, maybe barely compete for that fringe 6th seed.
