Hall vs Basham

Would have much preferred Basham over Hall. Basham was a beast in college. Flashes more on tape. Just compare both players against Tennessee.

Both really good prospects.  My renob for the mid-round DEs this year was at it's hardest with these two.  At least Basham didn't go to our division.

Really hate this pick with Basham available. 

Hall is a complete project. Throw poo to the wall and hope it sticks pick.

Basham is already a darn good player.

Watching Basham against Tenn is depressing, not even halfway through it Basham has two sacks and some hurries.

Hall was the top rated remaining DE on Gil Brandt's board and it wasn't even close. Hall was 57, Basham was 127.

We met with both guys so they clearly see things that edge Hall out over Basham.  If that's the case, then great.  He is really solid off the snap.  Also ran a 4.76 at his size.

Hall has great size and great get off. What I've watched makes it look like he's schematically smart, gap responsible and has good eyes for watching where the football goes.

Not seeing the get off. Do you have a game to point me to to see this get off / explosiveness? 

I see a guy who looks athletic but lacks real explosiveness, ferocity and pass rushing moves.

about half the snaps he's twitchy fast right on the snap, the other half he's the typical college upper tier slight lag. Almost all des I watch in college have a bit of a lag in their get off, few are truly elite get off. Hall looks like one of those half the time.

And I don't disagree about the explosiveness or ferocity. He has time to work on that, he's got the tools and the get off makes me confident he will. He's still raw. Still learning how to use his new body, used to be smaller.
