Howard is washed up?

Howard is a good but not a great player at this point in his career. If he is fine with being a 16/13/3 guy who is the third or so option on offense while rebounding like a madman and blocking shots left and right the move should work out great. If he expects to be top dog who doesn't have to "work" and still get tons of touches this likely won't end well.

Howard has consistently been a franchise killer. He is cancerous and you need really just look at his career stops to see that. However, his playing ability on the court has been good to spectacular. Personally, I don't want to see his cancer on the Hornets but we literally gave up nothing to get him, so it is hard to see how we don't come out well.

Your last sentence is his problem. He still thinks he's the man.

Howard's problem has never been talent. It's his attitude. Biggest thing that concerns me by far about him.

If that's the case let's all pray a contender comes calling thinking Dwight is the missing piece.

He has a great respect for Cliff and Jordan. He's only 3years older than Cam and like Cam he's big boned and not injury prone. Great physical conditioning and awareness. He has got a lot left (still relatively young) and talked of retiring with the Hornets(5-6yrs). In today's NBA I'll take that. That says a lot about what will come later if he balls out. Charlotte is down the road from his beloved (ugh...pteew)ATL who kicked him to the curb.

This the perfect situation for Howard. For Charlotte it's kind of like getting that #1 pick that we've always never got from the NBA "lottery". Say what you want but you're getting an AllStar and future NBA HOF'er.

IF he and Cliff can put it all together, yes he should be a focal point. He is better than Big Al. This is the best center this town has had since Zo.

He will revive his career HERE like others have. The Hornets may have one of its best squads ever, on paper that is. Monk, Bacon on top of that! Frank improving. I can't wait! Pumped! The potential is there for greatness.

    • I'm honestly looking beyond DC at this point. He's too green and is making too many simple mistakes. I think he's gone after next year. I think the intention in LV was to use Mayer and Bowers similar to Gronk/Hernandez in NE. That's never really struck me as Carroll's MO though after watching him for years out here in Seattle.  He's talented enough and I think he just got lost behind the phenom that is Bowers because he couldn't develop in Carroll's system. I'm surprised Bowers is used as much as he is, though they really don't have anyone else. TE's don't really exist as focus receivers in Carroll's offense. I live in the PNW so I've been subjected to a lot of Seahawks football.  Coaches other utilize their TEs. We should too. Tremble is OK, but he's always been a project as a receiver. Again, all this is of we could get him at the right price. I wouldn't pay a lot because we need to spend on defense.
    • David. Hey, money talks.....it has been acknowledged that Tepper isn't shy on spending. He's had the NFL equivalents of used car salesman after used car salesman line up to grift him of a big chunk. Canales is one of them.  Until that changes, it's gonna be tough to build anything to last.
    • Well it's who they tied themselves to for at least another year but i agree. They will be lucky to find a useful contributor but until I see the DC situation change I am presuming it's SSDD. Well it sounds like maybe in 2027.
