Johnny Rockets

I'm gonna say Rockies vs Angels.

Why?

I have no idea.

Mostly because I don't think I have heard anyone else pick this matchup and I'm sick of hearing about every other team that is involved.

Yeah, pretty stupid.

And that is probably how it will turn out. In recent memory, it usually is one of the underdogs winning it all isn't it? Rockies are hot and that usually carries into the post season in baseball. Angels are a very solid team also.

The Yankees win only because God hates Johnny Rockets more

If by chance it is Yankees vs. Phillies in the world series...I believe game 4 would be in Philly on the same day the Eagles would be playing the Giants across the street. Would be awesome to be in Philly that day.

Road trip? Free meals and place to stay!

The stat geeks that come on the local sportstalker pretty well have it that once the postseason starts, you CAN indeed "throw out the records" when it comes to baseball.

The "best" teams don't always win, and it is something of a statistical crapshoot as to who gets to the WS and even who wins.

Homefield advantage is not particularily significant either.

Dunno, I just think it would be kinda funny if the Angels and Rocks get in, since every TV east of the big river will be tuned out.

And the New York/Boston contingent will be pouty.

I'm just SOOOO glad the Bears are playing ok, otherwise I'd be on suicide watch and/or heavily medicated.

Well I was gonna say the same exact thing.

Rockies may not get there, but I really think this is the Angels' year.

Pitching trumps everything else.

That's why I'm taking the only staff with 5 starters with 10+ wins this year.

Rockies

Vs

Red Sox

I think a healthy Wake, Beckett, Lester and Papelbon take down the Evil Empire.

Rockies in a riveting Game 6

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
