So what are we not seeing on the practice field?

It's Shula so who knows. We could've seen his whole playbook if it's the same Shula

I think we are going to see new stuff from Shula.  He and the offensive coaches spent a lot of time researching and planning this new offense. Glass half full?...remember 2015.    I may be disappointed but I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point.

That may be the dumbest play in the history of football. Even if nobody knows it's coming and nobody's within 20 yards of Bersin at the snap, that play will not have a good outcome. Can't believe we how many times we tried it on 3rd down in 2014...

We had Brad Hoover lined up in the wildcat once. I think dwayne Jarrett caught a pass that game.

If we dont have sets with CMC/ Stew and CMC/Samuel together in the backfield planned for the regular season, fire Shula now.

CMC/Samuel in particular excites me. Both guys can take a handoff from the backfield, run a route from the backfield, or motion out wide and become a WR. IMO, those two in the backfield together gives us our most intriguing matchup issues for defenses, particularly with Olsen in the slot. On paper, you have a 2 RB, 1 TE, 2 WR set. Most teams will counter this with either their base D or nickel. What in reality might be coming at them could be the equivalent of a 5 wide set. We may still not have a great WR corps on paper, but we definitely have some offensive weapons that should really excite offensive coaches. I really wamt Samuel to get healthy soon...

Would be nice if Samuel would actually do something in practice...or actually practice.

I am dissappont.

edit: just read the last sentence of your comment. Yeah.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
