Official Panthers/Redskins Tailgate Thread

After almost a month off it's time to tailgate again! The Redskins come to town for a 1 pm kickoff and all we need is you to show up! This week's tailgate is co-sponsored by posters 5158 poundin and Liquid. Liquid owns Cashiers Pump and Plumbing Supply in Cashiers, NC. Their number is 828-743-5665 please call them for any of your plumbing needs and we thank them SO much for sponsoring the tailgate. Without sponsors, no money gets donated to Toys for Tots at year end. Because of our sponsors, 100% of the money YOU put into a donation bucket at our tailgate goes straight to the charity. To date we have raised over $15,000 and given over 500 new bikes to the Panthers Marine Corps Reserve Toy Drive at the stadium.

The food this week is prepared by Ranuccis Big Butt BBQ (www.ranuccis.com). Alex Ranucci is an award winning BBQ professional who has earned a spot to contend for the BBQ National Championship in Memphis, TN in May of 2010. No matter what the Panthers record is, the food alone this week is worth the trip downtown. The menu this week will consist of his award winning pulled pork BBQ, sauce, beans, cole slaw, chips, buns, pickles, buffalo turds, and various other dishes and desserts.

Here's the rest of the details:

1. Where? Our Free Huddle Tailgate is at a parking lot that borders Church St, Poplar, and 3rd St. downtown. The lot is right across the street from Picassos's downtown. Specifically in that lot our tailgate is closest to the corner of Poplar and 3rd. right on the sidewalk. We have 3 tents and lots of Carolinahuddle.com banners to help you locate us. We are RIGHT beside the lower entrance to this lot.

2. When? This week we will start at 7 AM.

3. What will be there? Lots. We have plenty of tents for cover from sun or rain. We provide for free all the food and free drinks included: Cokes, Diet cokes, Sundrops, Diet Sundrops, and waters. There will also be plenty of music and good people. There will also be a limited breakfast menu available from Bojangles if you get there early.

4. How much? If you park in that lot it's $30. You DO NOT HAVE TO PARK THERE TO PARTY WITH US! There are many lots a few blocks back that are MUCH cheaper, even down to $5. Take advantage of that or take the train into town for a few bucks. To tailgate please donate as much as you can til it hurts. Please be generous and consider how convenient our tailgate makes things for you and how much you save vs. going into the game and buying all this or trying to do it yourself.

5. Who is there? Most of the people there are people on this website and their friends and family. All of us were new at one time or another. Please don't be shy if you've never been here before. We make friends easily. We give our food and non-alcoholic drinks away for free to ALL.

6. Is this tailgate kid friendly? We do not police adult behavior before football games. We do not take responsibility for what kids may see or hear during the tailgate. Generally most adults mind their manners around them, but you never know what they may be exposed to during their time there so use your own judgment.

Most important please bring your own drinks if you want alcohol. The Official Huddle Tailgate does not in any fashion provide alcohol as part of its tailgate. We do not accept responsibility for anyone's actions as a result of what they consume at a tailgate.

Wish I could make the drive to tailgate with you folks but I guess I'll just have to sit on the couch and yell at the TV. :D Enjoy!

I forgot what buffalo turds were...anyone care to remind me?

Rep for sponsoring the tailgate. Especially since you can't be there. Buffalo turds are jalapeno peppers filled with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, smoked on the grill.

Here is a recipe using little smokies in them as well.

Holy poo. Those sound too damn good.

Glad I could be a part of the good things the Huddle does for its people and for the kids. Thanks for the link!

    • Yeah lol well the interest isn’t really about seeking stimulation.  I wanted to see how actually bad it was.  And how much of it was women setting him up to be their cash cow.  That is the stuff that leveraged the Panthers into David Tepper’s hands. It is important in that sense.     The worst that I have heard is that he got them in the car and clumsily reached across to help them with their seat belt and made contact. With his arm. That was probably his big slick move. And I can almost guarantee he wasn’t rejected every time. It is easy to picture that action bringing his head close enough to the woman’s head to where he could go in for the kiss if he thought he got the green light.    I really don’t care if JR was a horn dog. We heard all our lives up until the last few years that one of the perks of being really old is that you can flirt with the young women and it is not just tolerated but expected. So he was keeping a tradition alive at some point 😂
    • Well I rubbed some dirt on it and am still here just not optimistic about the future of the QB position. Even what I had accepted as a ceiling raised to an acceptable level turned out to be a bit of a mirage, upon rewatch of the WC game.  Good plays were there yes, but some pretty bad ones too that the good ones late in the game kind of obscured. I have to downgrade that a little.  Especially after rewatching the last 4 plays. I remember the arguments about he did his job the WRs didn’t but that was really just that last muff by Coker I think it was on our final offensive play.   To the future: I know what my level is for paying him and recommitting, but I don’t have any confidence that the team shares my high bar.    But thanks for the pep talk
