UEFA Champions League

Shocker

Recommended Posts

Interesting draws:

Chelsea naturally gets Athletico Madrid.  Crazy.  Tough group that includes Roma as well.

Man United have a very favorable draw IMO.

Real Madrid has a very tough draw.  Group includes Tottenham and Dortmund.

Bayern and PSG drawn together as well.

Juventus and Barca also in the same group.

i'm sooooooooo shocked that United got the easiest group. who could have seen that coming, nobody in the whole world.

Being picky but I think Group G is actually the easier group.  Initially I thought Liverpool had a good chance but I'm not completely sold they can overtake Spartak and Sevilla.  I think they probably fight Sevilla for the top spot.  That will be interesting.  Group F won't be a cake walk for Man City either...but I think they'll top it in the end.

Almost feel bad for Spurs getting the group of death, Group B should be entertaining with Bayern and PSG, City have a manageable group, would say either group A or group E are the easiest.

at least they have all those new signings to help them. lmao.

It's collusion I tell ya!!!

FIFA and UEFA are both corrupted...  I think it's been proven multiple times.

That said, I have no clue if there is collusion or not but it's odd MU always gets weak teams in group stage.

Group H will be fun to watch for sure.  My dream Group of Death was Real/PSG/Tottenham/Leipzig but Real/Dortmund/Tottenham will be pretty damn good

Group E is the weakest to me, followed by Group A

Groups B and D are the easiest to pick you R16 teams, the question will be which of Bayer/PSG and Juve/Barca get the in the Group Winners pot.  Group C probably is next in this category with Chelsea/Atletico although perhaps Roma can keep it interesting, I do not see that possibility in B/D

If I were to pick the team most likely to top their group it would be City in Group F

I find Group G very interesting.  You have two teams outside the Big Four leagues that have experience past the group stage while the group's lone Big Four team (Leipzig) is brand new to the competition.

I think we can all agree that APOEL got screwed

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
