Off Season Resignings

Albion Panthers

So once this season has been and gone (or before that) can the Panthers afford to re-sign both Star and Norwell? Other players contracts are up too such as Stew and then the people that were signed this year or extended such as Johnson and Peppers

Who can Panthers realistically expect to keep?

Star and Norwell will get a new contact.  Stew and CJ will probably be cut.  Peppers will stay as long as he wants for whatever he wants within reason I hope.  After that it's anyone's guess.  Hurney is the wildcard.

Individual player accomplishments and how far we go as a team will play a huge role in end of season personnel decisions .

That being said I think we will see Peppers and CJ leave , and Stew will probably have to sign with another team unless he really kills it this season. We'll be a lot younger at DE and probably draft a couple of them to groom up along with Hall.

    • It's a combo really.  Canales and Bryce are both just not doing great.   Canales choices on the run game this season has lost us games.  Bryce still does a lot of bonehead stuff like not running it in for the TD.  But Canales not running the ball didn't really help open things up either.  Also the team just looks unprepared weekly.  That's on coaching.  I agree that he needs to be a HC or an OC and not both.  We need a real play caller in here.   I do agree, I'd like to see Canales with a QB that he feels fits his system more but even without that not running the ball is just crazy.
    • Maybe Canales is playing 3D chess. He's trying to show to the FO why picking up Bryce's 5th year option ain't a good idea.
    • Realistically, I would keep an eye on on O’Connell. Big and strong QB, with a powerful arm. Could be a cheap get. Looked rough in a shitty situation but started figuring it out with limited resources. I know Jones isn’t going anywhere but would be nice to get a crack at him, Lance, or Mills.    Hell I would even take Trubisky or Allen (part 2).
