Veteran Cuts we might be interested in

CBS sports has a list of possible veterans that could be cut on Saturday.   I saw about 7 that could be interesting for us.

Brook Reid DE Atlanta. - I know many think we could use more depth at DE due to our age.

Eric Winston - OT - Definitely could use depth or even start.

TJ Ward - S - Previously discussed and most would take him

Haloti Ngata DT - Would be an awesome add to a fearless DT line

Jah Reid OL - Didn't list as a tackle or guard but probably is skilled enough for both and would be great depth

Byron Maxwell CB - Once again we could use some depth at CB

Dante Jones DT - See Haloti Ngata

Thoughts?

I don't see how we wouldn't try for the offensive linemen.   We could use the depth.  You could also say the same for CB.

DE and DT would be gravy type players.  The would probably get better money elsewhere so coming to Carolina would be to win a championship.

For the right guys sure.  Winston?  Wow I didn't know he was still playing.  He was trash and washed up many moons ago, can't even fathom how bad he is now.

Ward, Winston, Maxwell, and Ngata, yes. Could use depth/true competition at these positions.

Ever stop to think that there's a reason these guys are getting released, and they may not be the same players they were a few years ago?

Doesn't seem to be the case with TJ Ward, why keep a guy around that you will lose/not pay next summer when hes a 31 year old free agent? They like what they see in their 2nd and 3rd string safeties to sacrifice some talent in an already deep secondary to get the young guys up to speed and more reps a year earlier.

So I would be interested in Ward and maybe Maxwell, he played well last year but has looked bad once again in the preseason so I'm not sure which Maxwell you'd get.

As said before, not the case with Ward. Also, what's wrong with depth with experience? Seems that was a major issue last year with the o-line. Better safe than sorry IMO.

I really doubt anyone is going to start them willingly. But depth it could help.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
