One cut day = bad football

The main justification of the old way was to give guys time to latch on somewhere else, but did that ever happen? If you can't make the top 75 of one team you probably aren't gonna be able to make the 53 of another team with only a week to prove yourself. I'd venture to say hopefuls probably prefer staying with one team throughout the pre-season, rather than clamoring for another opportunity in such a short window.

So personally I don't mind it, gives coaches more time with each player and thus should bring more informed decisions. The number of players hitting waivers will be crazy, but I doubt we will see many more claims than usual put in.

Change is good, that's 15 extra bodies to limit the use of starters, and key depth in the 4th meaningless pre-season game. All of these NFL staffs know who's cut by the time the 3rd game wraps up. It's not like they'll be sifting through 40 names today trying to figure out what to do.

There may be some fringe battles, but it's not something that has changed the prior process internally most likely.
