Here’s some not so good news. Philadelphia Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis suffered a quad strain in his plant leg (though Les Bowen reports it’s hip flexor) and is expected to be out for “several” weeks, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Rapoport notes that the Eagles will try out free agent kickers this week.

Since the injury is only for a few weeks, I seriously doubt they would be willing to part with anything meaningful for either of our kickers. If it was a season ender then we might have a chance but they will most likely just go with someone off the street until Sturgis returns.

Technically, only one Butker can be waived right now. Gano is exempt from waivers due to his veteran status until after the trade deadline.

I'd prefer to trade Gano, but...  idk, we'll see I guess.  Hurney should have just made a damn decision to start with instead of keeping both.

No one is giving up compensation and/or paying for Gano.  Robbie Gould had attempted less kicks in that stadium than Gano and also made it look easy from 44.

Giorgio Tavecchio was 4/4 with a long of 52 and 2/2 XP yesterday filling in for Janikowski in Nashville.

Having 2 kickers, one of them Gano, especially for his price-was, is, and will continue to be-ludicrous.

Every team had a camp body at kicker who was recently cut and can be quickly called back to action. No one is going to trade for a kicker at this point in the season.

I'd much rather get rid of Gano over Butker, but my guess is that the latter is the most likely to get moved at this point. 

For Philly, in particular, Sturgis isn't out all season so why would they want to take on Gano's contract for 7 weeks of kicking?

If Telavecchio keeps it up, Janikowski is getting cut. That guy looked GREAT yesterday. Now we know why they had the leverage to force Janikowski to take a pay cut.
