When Panthers where in a pinch in 2015 season after KB's injury, they looked to the hawks to acquire depth at the receiver position ala Kevin Norwood. The 2017 season has eerie familiarity to SB appearance season where depth is needed after key player is lost to a non contact injury. The defense is looking like its former self and can hold the fort down, but if want to make deep post-season run we must shore up the TE dept especially being a run first team.

Luke Wilson should be familiar name to the Panthers fan who has ruined couple of season with his game winning TD in close heated defensive battles. Hawks have excellent depth with Graham & last year rookie Vannett and would be willing to move him for the right scenario. He is only 27 years old and you can never have enough Luke on this team.

TE: Luke Wilson 6'-5" 255 lbs

Or we could just give Dickson a chance instead of throwing it 10 feet over his head every time he's wide open. We could also use our big WR's better and more often. KB and Funchess both proved they can make big catches yesterday. I would also like to point out that Funchess has caught every catchable pass that has come his way, so far.

If Olsens health was that important to our season than we were doomed from the start. If the coaches and FO think Funchess, Dickson, CMC, and Samuel are good as they think they are then we should be okay. Would love for us to sign Barnidge but that's not happening. Besides we'll get Olsen back.

We still need depth behind Dickson, our Big WR's are not TEs who can come in as FB and block for power/zone runs.

We don't need anymore oversized WRs

This.  Unless Luke Wilson is 9 feet tall and has a 40 foot catch radius then I think "the answer is already on the roster"

I love reading these trade for TE scenarios and all.  And how nice it would be have a good TE.  But how about we just get our OC to evolve/adjust.  He begged for more weapons and blamed the offensive failures on lack of weapons vs his lack of playcalling.

We just drafted 2 of them.  We have used 1 in CMC.

Now it's time to put up or shut up (Or pack your bags if it were up to me)  we don't have a stud TE anymore but we have this shiny jack of all trades slot WR in Samuel.  Just go to more 3 WR sets with KB, Funch, and Shepard in the slot.  You have seen more teams go to this around the league adjusting to this when needed

    • So much revisionist history around the pre-draft Bryce hype. The media was practically united in saying that if he were a couple inches taller he'd be the perfect prospect and it was just a question of whether he'd hold up in the NFL being that small. The Panthers did not create the mythos around him they were just the team that bought in. The team was largely praised for the move after and for surrounding him with what was considered an all-star coaching staff at the time.  Yeah part of the fanbase wanted Stroud but let's be real, we're coming from an oversized franchise QB who injured himself out the league. There was some analysis here on the limitations of Bryce's game but people were mostly just concerned he was going to turn into dust when he got sacked in the NFL.
    • Maybe Rod changing his philosophy a little so that stars dont turn into JAGs.
    • I feel like the last 2 years were the best chances to win the Cup under Rod. Especially 2 years ago. Im afraid this year is the start of the decline. You cant last forever with his philosophy which doesnt change and most stars you get by the trade deadline end up being just another guy.  It sucks because he is a master motivator. All he needs to do is make small tweaks like change his coaching staff and actually address the issues this team has had year after year in the playoffs. Not just personnel wise, but strategic wise.
