Why does it seem when we lose a star receiver on Offense, Cam flourishes?

As I was pulling the stats below a couple things jumped out.

1) Over the years, Cam has learned to spread the ball around more, which has lead to multiple significant contributors.

2) 2017’s his best group of receivers. It’s his most spread out numbers wise

3) CMC leads the team with receptions (27) so far, which I find crazy (I didn’t include receptions, but should have)

Maybe because Shula has to get more creative, my immediate thought and guess.

i think it has less to do with injury and more to do with maturation of our QB.  It's still early and we will have to wait to see how the numbers turn out

He prospers when he's not force feeding his studs and the o-line gives him time to go through his reads. Pretty sure that defenses are used to him scrambling the minute his head starts swiveling too, so the threat of his legs just opens up the field even more.

The play call changes. Instead on depending on great players to succeed on just execution we call plays that put other players in position to succeed.

because Cam develops tunnel vision and is forced to go to other receivers when his main target is unavailable
