Veron Davis’s yards per touch are more than 3x McCaffrey’s. Means he plays a different position / has a different usage rate, that’s all.

One would expect a ‘slot receiver to outgain a bell-cow back on a per touch basis, anyways.

I like our versatility...

The guy has skills. Think of what he would be doing in KC with Andy Reid instead of RR and Mike Shula. I would love to see what he could do with the players on this offense.

Our offense is old, and built around ground and pound, whether it's working or not. The NFL had become a pass friendly league and most games we look lost.

Cam is not playing well right now and looks hurt again. That falls directly in Shula and Chud for 6 years of using him as our star RB.

CMC is not going to be a 20 times per game run between the tackles back and I'm good with that. Our offense looks lost and isn't playing with a lot of confidence. We are out of rythem and it shows. This team is in a funk.  Whether that's because of Shula and his play-calling or Rivera refusing to adapt to anything, something has to change. when it does I think you will see CMC have an up step in his game.

Personally,  I think he's trying too hard to make it happen instead of letting things just come to him. but that's just part of the adjustment to the NFL game

come on bruh.  This simply isn't true.  The first full week of practice Cam finally was able to put in.....he then played great.

Patriots game - Cam played well

Lions game - Cam played well

Philly game - I would actually argued Cam played well until he made his goal line dive  which then impacted his throws.  Cam actually was playing very well up until that goal line dive.  The rest of the team sucked.  The rest of the team imploded their plays.  When Cam had his chances he was playing just like he did vs the Pats and Lions until the dive.

That's what I don't like about all the Twitter Analysts.  It's like they don't even think about whatever obscure stat they contrive

2.5 of 6 games Cam has played well. He looked like it was going to be a good game in Philly until the dive. Whether hurt, or because he missed TC and practice , whatever, the first 3 games were not good.

I'm trying to look bigger picture. Cam can't be this offense alone and CMC has to step it up along with the rest of this offense. I'm not sure though that his body hasn't already paid the price for the first six years. When Cam is off the rest of the team is off, and this team is not getting into the rhythm that it should be in on offense. Something has got to change or else it's going to be a very long season for Panther fans and cam is going to keep taking the beating because of Rivera in Shula refusing to adapt.

    • After some of the calls last year probably won't see much of a drop off
    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48344034/nfl-begin-hiring-replacement-officials-given-state-negotiations-nfl-referees-association   Honestly fug these refs and their union. Resisting changes that would actually incentivize good performance and not seniority based systems. What a bunch of donkeys. Hope the replacements straight up take their jobs and never give them back. Sick of watching refs script games with no repercussions.
    • Donovan seems like highest risk to me. Lloyd and May have already established relationships with all these kids. There’s probably guys hitting the portal that they recruited from HS. And then there’s the possibility of transferring their own guys from their current teams. They’ve also been recruiting the HS kids for like the next 5 years already. Look at the Iowa coach who hit the ground running by transferring all his guys from his D2 program. Or going across sports to Cignetti transferring all his JMU guys year one then building off that to a national title year 2. Donovan is starting from square one having been in the NBA so long and he’s already 60. So you’re potentially punting year 1 for a guy you are just hoping to be a 10 year hire while you figure out how to actually develop your next home grown 20yr guy. That’s 1/10th of the time you have him, more or less at best. The hope would be that he would find some high level assistants who have been working the college recruiting trails already, but then are you giving up his ideal staff just to get a foothold in recruiting and transfers. Think Belichick year one was bad? Imagine how much worse it would be without Steve Belichicks transfer portal pulls. Hoping Mays or Lloyd are all they’re cracked up to be.
