Firing Shula will solve nothing...

... if you don't also fire Rivera.

The head coach is in charge of hiring assistants. Left to his own devices, Rivera will hire another OC just like his current one (and probably from within his current staff).

This team needs a complete overhaul. GM and head coach both need to go. But sadly, even that won't be enough unless Richardson allows someone else to pick their replacements.

So essentially, don't hold your breath on things getting better.

I like Wilks, but I want an offensive coach.

Wilks just seems bright and intelligent. I’m tired of rooting for a dumb team. I don’t care what side of the ball the next head coach specializes in as long as they come with some smarts.

By the same token, does firing Rivera solve anything as long as Richardson is the owner? Will we just hire another conservative, ground and pound, defensive minded coach?

I don't know about that.  Rivera did try to get Turner, and he did get that crazy bastard Rob Chudzinski. Neither were anything like Shula.

But then after that had the chance at Hue Jackson, and chose Shula.

But more to the point, Rivera is just not qualified to be a head coach. He's an excellent defensive coordinator, but he does not have the skill set to be in charge.

Richardson doesn’t care what the team does on the field as long as everyone he likes gets a fat paycheck and good feelings and the stadium is full (even with opposing fans)

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
