Instead of inquiring players like good teams do

This incompetent sob trades away one of our best offensive threats on a already struggling offense.

All because we have an over his head OC who can't adjust to his personnel and think every receiver running go routes is good play design. We let one of the best possession receivers in the NFL walk out the door for peanuts, for a Marty Hurney 3rd round draft pick ponder that.

I remember when Gettleman said he didn't believe in windows for Superbowl teams. Well Dave, Superbowl windows are a very real thing and you and Hurndog helped us completely miss ours. Other teams are realizing they have a real chance at winning the SB and are going all in. Either every team in league is wrong or windows are a real thing and we got completely fuged because of shitty upper management.

We are in 49ers, Jets, Browns, territory when it comes to wide receiver depth and talent.

And all these experts talking about Cam played better in 2015 when KB was out. We'll guess what, we could run the ball wih the best of them in 2015 and now we are one of the worst.

And now we just got weaker in the passing game. KB size and ability to box out sealed the win for us last week. We have no other receiver on the roster who could have made that play.

I was a lot more mad when we lost Josh and Smitty

I was mad about Steve but more from a nostalgia aspect than from on field performance at that point in his career. With Josh I was mad but atleast Gettleman had a philosophy and a rhyme and reason for not wanting to pay Norman.

I see no reason for executing this trade other Hurney throwing Beane a bone and giving Tyrod a reliable receiver on the Bills playoff run.

This stinks and it certainly doesn't show the Panthers are in win mode now.

    • I will say that Dan came into a fvcked up situation (perhaps partly his making, but that's another discussion). We were devoid of talent, cash-strapped and draft-position-challenged. Plus, he had to have time to develop a plan and acquire the right staff. I think that he's made some inroads on the offense (though still a work in progress), now he has a little latitude to focus on improving the defense. If he doesn't address two of the three major needs on defense this year, there is really no excuse. The only fly in that ointment will possibly be the Ickey injury (and two a lesser extent BC). We may have to prepare ourselves for a trade-back. I don't know how we're going to do everything without more picks. Morgan and Tillis have to work some magic, otherwise we may be thinking that the FO is wilfully ignoring critical positions again. We absolutely need an LT, a pass rusher, a middle 'backer, and a safety. How are we going to get viable talent at all these positions? It's going to be interesting to see what happens, but I'm thinking we have to acquire more picks.
    • There's only 32 NFL HC jobs available. It's not like you can just sit back and wait for the perfect opportunity. For the money it pays, I'll go out to Vegas and make a complete ass of myself with a poo eating grin you couldn't beat off my face with a crowbar.
    • This is complicated by him being a UFA and being unable to pass a physical. Also, he isn't young to be having that sort of injury.  As fantastic as he has been, the plan SHOULD be to get another quality utility OL in the draft and if BC becomes available, sign him off the couch when he is ready to go. He won't have many suitors(as he didn't last season) so I suspect this will be an option. Curhan was fine...for a PS player. I do think we need to aim higher there, as well.
