What in the Hell is Wrong With Our Secondary?

Several plays our guys were in the right position and the reciever made an incrediable catch. We had two really bad plays in the secondary that i can remember the drop by ASJ and the wide open wr....our corners are still young and will get better and we were without captain today.

We have ignored the safety position for too long. Coleman was only good during the 2015 season. This sorely needs to be addressed in the offseason.

At CB, we have found an adequate CB in Bradberry. However, I have no explanation for his terrible season  and why he has regressed so much since last year. Just like Funchess on the offensive side, we shouldn't settle for them to be our #1 at their respective positions. We need a true #1 WR and CB.

Dude funchess was great today besides a td drop...if he had been playing the x all year who knows what his stats would be...286 yds in 3 games is pretty fair lol....and as far as bradberry he still makes really good plays but makes mistakes, he will get better!

Our secondary will improve if we plant Worley on the bench and forget he is on the roster

I still feel worley will get better ...he makes some really bad mistakes but plays good a lot of the time....we are blitzing a lot more putting more pressure on the young cbs if the blitz doesn't get home....they will get better!

Badberry and Whiffley should not be starting in the NFL. They have not regressed from last season. They have improved. The two of them are just that unimpressive. Last season Badberry got way too much hype from the huddle and his mistakes were mostly excused. Their awareness is awful, they do not attack the ball, and Badberry is afraid to hit and will give up on active plays while someone from the front seven speeds past him to make the tackle.

Let me know when they force a fumble or make a game changing interception. They do not scare any QB, and the good QBs are ready to make their big plays on them.

They cost the Panthers last season, and they are costing the Panthers this season. Thankfully, this season they have a lot more luck going their way with opposing teams just missing their wide open big plays.

The biggest worry is how they will cost the Panthers in the playoffs. Their only saving grace is how well the front seven has been playing.

By year 3 or 4 Badberry will be an average starting CB - good against a #2 WR. Whiffley is worse than Bene or McClain.

The Air Raid happened.

John Morton played a beautiful game. Punched us with the right playcalls to counter our aggressive blitzing and hit us at our weaknesses.

Knew it was a mismatch from the start despite the lack of talent the Jets possess. They have an OC who can get it done.

Aka we should be more prepared against the Saints

He can get better in practice but he needs to stop playing on Sundays.

I think Bradberry and Worley have more upside than our safeties. They can't really trust them to have their back.

Plus Jets WR made plays today they really challenged us. That TD catch by Anderson was ridiculous. Idk how he held on to that ball. And any WR in the NFL one on one downfield with Kurt Coleman is a huge mismatch.

We don't have consistent pressure by our front 4. We have games where we explode for 4 or 5 sacks and then have games where the QB has all the time in the world. We lack severe depth in our secondary.

I was hoping Corn Elder would get to play this year. I think he will be good but Idk now he's had a injury that keeps him away from even getting experience in the game. He's going to look like a rookie next year. He could of took huge steps of becoming a better player if he was healthy so now thats a huge unknown.

I think the only time we will get an elite CB talent if we take one early. We won't find these 3rd rounders that will be a game changer. Its pretty rare. Lattimore for the saints is a rare rookie CB who is a big time player. Marcus Peters was great his rookie year. Its hard to think of many more..

Great teams are usually the ones who have at least one big time player on every tier of their defense.. D linemen.. LB.. CB or Safety. We have an above average D line. Elite LBs and Average secondary. Were way worse off without Bradberry though. He will be fine.
