Rookie running backs since the Huddle started

We all know how awful CMC is (thanks Electro!), but just for shtis and giggles, I decided to compare him to our last three rookie running backs.  Granted, he was taken higher in the draft, but these are our four guys who have gotten significant playing time in their rookie season.

I've extrapolated CMC's numbers to what the full season may look like based on his production to date.  And it should be noted that his return yards are mainly punts while DeAngelo's and Stew's are KO returns, which are typically higher, but since that makes CMC look worse by comparison I left it as-is.  Couldn't find any first down data, so if anyone can and wants to add it that would be great.

                             Rushing Receiving
Rush Yards Avg TDs Rec. Yards Avg Catch % TDs Fum Ret Yds Tot Yds
Deshaun Foster 113 429 3.8 0 26 207 8.0 74.3% 2 3 0 636
DeAngelo Williams 121 501 4.1 1 33 313 9.5 91.7% 1 1 623 (19.5) 1,437
Jonathan Stewart 184 836 4.5 10 8 47 5.9 47.1% 0 2 349 (23.3) 1,232
Christian McCaffrey 111 390 3.5 3 86 681 7.9 70.2% 4 3 320 (8.7) 1,391

Commence to pile-on...

*Edited to correct CMC's extrapolated numbers

i dont think the huddle was around in 2002.

I included Foster because the Huddle was here for most of his career.  Also, he started out here in rotation, just like the other three.  So it made a twisted sense to me to add him into the mix.

No, he started here on IR.

If that acting thing doesn't work out, you should go into law.

There are interesting parallels in his first real season in the NFL with CMC's.  I was waiting on you to point out that he was drafted in the 2nd rather than seemingly objecting to his inclusion in the first place.

it didn't. now i work in a rehab hospital for people suffering from stroke, dementia, and other things you typical see in the Appalachian high risk health corridor.

There are no interesting parallels because Foster never played.

But Foster was a much more impressive specimen coming out of UCLA, and only dropped because he was getting paid in Escalades while he was there.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
