QB of the Future, and Fox's Job Security..

So it's obvious we arent that good of a team this year. It's also obvious we have too much talent too be a really bad team this year. We will likely finish somewhere in the 6-10 area..Which brings the spotlight on Fox. Will Fox be here next year, and what effect will that have on our QB situation? According to some articles Fox is a lame duck coach just waiting to get canned..

Now theres a QB who's available who could be the future of our organization. Maybe he will be a bust? Regardless theres a young QB with potential, ripe for the picking off of a horendous team...Now i dont care if it was Quinn or someone else, would Fox take a QB of the Future, if he wont be in our future? Basically is Fox's job security hurting our future. Given his mindset, and the mindset i would have if this may be my last year, who cares about the future, i wont be here..I feel like this hurts our team in the long run..

Thoughts?

you guys are screwed. you gave big money/years to jake and it appears he is broken again. you could drop him or demote him but its going to come at a big cost to your team. this is a great reason why you make your players play out the contract that they signed. big extension to jake and now you have a big problem b/c of it.

If we went with a Notre Dame product, at this point I might rather have Jimmy Claussen than Brady Quinn.

I was thinking about Clausen too so I looked up a mock draft. He was projected to go 20th. If that is anywhere near correct we will not have a shot. I REALLY hate that we gave up our 1st round pick.

We have a better chance of plucking a Chad Henne type guy off someone's roster. I know we can't get Henne now, but someone like him who is a backup. Maybe Kevin Kolb?? Or if Philly lets McNabb go after this year we could plug him in for a year or 2.

Maybe its his big muscles and myoplex.

That's probably what it is. Because I still can't understand what people love so much about this guy. I've heard people criticize us for passing him up for 3 years now, saying that he would have turned out better than the Beason/Kalil trade combo. This is the same guy who just lost his job to "2 complete passes Derek Anderson", right?

Well, hes very talented, and he is not a retard.

He scored a 29 on his wonderlic, which is pretty good. Depending on how relevant one believes the wonderlic score is.

I believe he could be had for a decent price.

Dan Marino scored a 6 and Ryan Leaf scored a 30. Nuff said.

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
