I am pretty stoked about this hiring as well.  Turner has had success in this league and running a solid offense.  Given all the tools he currently has and the addtion of a Vet here or there and the sky is the limit.

Turner realizes that Cam is a one of a kind QB and will take advantage of those skills.  Refining and getting Cam to get the ball out quicker is a good thing to hear.

Something from another topic someone started a week or so ago keeps ringing in my ears. Turner said something about the hell with progression if a guy is open. THROW IT.  Something like that.

I have always been a fan of the Air Coryell offense.  I remember Dan Fouts, Kellen Winslow and Charlie Joyner and the rest of Don Coryell's team.  That was an exciting team to watch.   The Panthers have the equipment plus Cam to run a very potent offense.

Can wait to see it on the field.

Norv backed up Fouts at Oregon.

Read Option should be a play but not the staple of our run game.  Teams have figured out how to play it and for the most part stop it more than it works.   Turner spreads the defense out with his offense.  The read option will be more effective especially if we line up in a similar formation that indicates pass.

For better or worse, Cam is an option QB. Everyone knew that when he came into the league. If we aren't committed to running it, then we shouldn't of drafted him in the first place.

Beauty of the option is that if its ran correctly, it will get positive yards every time.

When he answered why he came back to coaching he mentioned, "Right person and the right place, and of course Carolina fit both of those." He mentions Rivera but beyond that I feel that he sees coaching Cam as a personal challenge because Cam is different from any QB he's coached before. And he's excited about not only imparting his vast knowledge but also learning and growing as he works with Cam and our offense. I also think Rivera told him he would be hands off; the offense is totally Norv's baby.

I was skeptical with the hire because I wasn't sure how flexible Norv could be. Prove me wrong, Norv!

I also get the sense that the offense will solely be Turner’s to manage. Rivera has an enormous amount of respect for Norv that he wouldn’t step on his toes. Should be interesting to see the offense finally “evolve”.

We can only hope...
