While I am a first amendment supporter, players kneeling during the national anthem did not help.  I do not agree with making them stand, but I disagree with using the TV cameras at your job to protest against the country.  It was a bad PR move, fueled by the presidential attention.  If Trump complains, 30% of our nation will not question it and follow his directives.

I'm a first amendment supporter but the rest of us get fired immediately for pissing off our customers because we choose to talk politics at work to them. These assholes should get the same treatment, and I don't even necessarily disagree with their position.

I just looked at my bill its $280 for reg Sunday Ticket, $47per mo over 6mos

That's not bad for about $17 for 4hr of entertainment per weekend, to watch & out of market team.

$280 will get you a couple of dog sh*t seats at Levi, doesn't include parking, fees, gas, etc for ONE game.

Hell I just shelled out over $400 for a couple concert tickets this summer and that's maybe four hours of entertainment.

All this is way overblown. New TV contracts say otherwise.

you can shout that the king is dead all you want. Doesn’t mean it’s true.

did the NFL ratings drop? Yes? Are they still way ahead of everyone else by a wide margin? Yes.

Mark Cuban is like the girl that wanted to go to the prom with you, but you went with a prettier girl instead and says “well she will be fat and ugly in a few years!”. Nobody cares and it doesn’t matter. The NFL is still the hottest girl in school.

Yeah I mean the NFL is still going to make a TON of money.   It's not like they go broke overnight.    It's like when a company posts a "loss" but it's really "well we made 3.9 billion last year instead of projected 4.2 billion".     They still made 3.9 billion lol.

Last year the NFL made $13billion compared to the NBA’s measly $8.5 billion.

thats a lot of money anyway you can split it, but the NFL is definitely worth more and it isn’t even close.

PS: MLB came in second place last year with $10B in revenue in 2016(2017 number are not out yet) so the NBA which is apparently killin the NFL isn’t even in second place.

Greed! It's ridiculous how much the NFL has over priced the tickets to go to a game......

Without a doubt this is so true, and can apply to other sports and even concerts.  When it comes to the Panthers we have two PSLs and have for a very long time and every season at least three or four games we would be two more tickets from friends in our section, ticket exchange or even scalp so my wife and daughter could also go to some games.  BUT we have not done that at all the last two season, they will go but then it still only two of us because it's gotten so expensive it's not worth it for all to go via buy two more.

I also think this is a reason why still so many empty seats at games.  Not only are tickets gotten expensive, when you go online the day before or day off they are still easily over $100 a piece.  To many brokers and PSL holders would rather eat their tickets than sell them at lower prices.

Yeah people don't realize that MLB is boosting numbers, and consistently.      Probably because people on this board live where it's not popular but it's huge in parts of the country.    While the NFL is putting out some bad product the MLB is having fantastic playoff matchups lately.

I think the NFL’s biggest issue is there isn’t a Manning v. Brady match-up anymore, in fact there isn’t anything close too it. I think it’s going to be a few years before we see something like that again.

there are no WOW factor mush watch games in the NFL right now. Even now I’m only mildly interested in the super bowl

You can literally watch anything for free on the internet if you know what to search for. I haven’t had cable in over 5 years. Learn how to use reddit if you don’t already.

I mean what’s the point? 4 hours of a football broadcast is like maybe an hour and a half of game play. I’m not trying to sit there and get brainwashed by stupid fuging Dilly Dilly commercials.

Boosting numbers, and losing popularity all at the same time. Awesome.

Isn’t the increase in the salary cap every year a testament to the NFL’s increasing revenue year after year? I would find that a lot more valuable on the NFL’s popularity over simply a relatively tiny poll on viewership. That would encompass jersey/merchandise sales, ticket sales, ads, fantasy football, streaming services like Game Pass, and countless more factors.

That wasn;t really what he criticized, he felt that disrespecting our nation and soldiers was morally wrong like I do.

Reddit is a really bad platform. I only occasionally go on the Panthers sub for some analaysis, the really unfunny "humor" and the fact that most mods are powerhungry assholes who don't let people speak their minds is enough to draw me away
