Well she is either really stupid or this is all true because why would she she fug with her alimony by making him lose his job??

She's currently making statements through her lawyer indicating that he shouldn't lose his job.

Positive Spin: She's upset with him but she's not vindictive and she doesn't want to hurt him.

Negative Spin: She doesn't want to stop the money train.

Hurney hating extremists are spinning this one really hard. For your sakes I hope there's more of a story than there appears to be. I'm not a fan of Hurney as a long term solution, but this just seems like you're trying really hard.

I have no idea whether this is true or not, but I'm well aware of the potential consequences.

Said it before: My best case scenario is to keep him on paid leave and hire someone else to be the GM.  He continues to get paid and can quietly fade away while the Panthers move on and put the Richardson era behind them.

This doesn't strike you as a reasonable solution?

These situations tend to bring out the worst in people.

25 years ago, a young lady I was interested in asked me to go to court with her, she was going through a custody and child support hearing with her ex.  They both made some insane accusations against each other, and I had to grab her to keep her from jumping him in the courthouse.  If I hadn't been there, she would have gotten to him and gotten charged with assault right in front of the cops

I lost interest in her after that.  :)

You can't just stop paying alimony because you don't want to. It's a legal agreement.  Can't get out of that unless a judge says so.

If he's guilty he shouldn't be on any kind of paid leave he should be fired. If he's innocent he shouldn't be on any kind of paid leave just because the idiots in the Facebook groups don't read past the headlines.

Accused vs Actually doing something are 2 different things. I'm waiting for someone to bust Jeanne Hurney's balls for filing a bullshit report. Bullshit according to the judge and her own attorney. Don't care if he's our GM or not but I do care when a woman has the ability to drag her ex into court over some non-sensical bullshit. Now he's being investigated by the NFL even though nothing was found and dismissed by the courts. Trying to ruin him...he ought to drag her into court for defamation.

Let's be real here hurney is never going to get another GM job if he is let go.. he will go back to being on the radio again and we all know that don't pay anywhere near as well as the GM job.. and then she will really be complaining about how little she is getting in alimony.. hence why she is a acting like a 5 year old.

lol hurney would just be throwing even more money in the fire by going after her.. women have way too much power in the courts it's unbelievable.. call me sexist if you want but it's the damn truth.

This being a domestic situation, "guilty" and "innocent" aren't as simple as dusting for fingerprints.

Now, the specific charges she made are things that can be verified or at least investigated, and given that she could suffer consequences for filing false charges, you'd have to figure she must have had something she and her lawyers believed would stand up in court.  She could also have angry texts, voice mails, email, whatever.  But she's not pursuing it right now so none of it matters.

But again, fair or not, the NFL's image has taken a hit among the female audience over the last few years.  That plus the existing situation with Richardson is why I expect them to be very careful how they do their investigation.  It probably wouldn't be wise to sweep this under the rug, and if they don't dispense with this quickly, do we just sit here and wait while the offseason approaches?

Again, is any of this unreasonable?

All this harassment B.S. is just that B.S.  Everytime someone gets their feelings hurt they automatically scream racism or sexism or whatever.

You people that bash JR should be shot and quartered.  No matter how good or bad he was to this franchise if it weren't for JR your stupid asses would still be cheering for Atlanta or Washington.

80+ year old man came from a different era and probably has said some things that 20 years ago would have been blown over.   No one knows exactly what was said or done but to JR's credit to allivate some of the pressure he sells the team.

Every indication is we won't get a better owner, just a new one.  To this day we have no idea who is the frontrunner for this franchise.  It will be some asshat that is going to hold Charlotte hostage for a new arena and we'll end up losing this franchise.   Many of your frontrunners don't remember the Carolina's without a franchise.  IT SUCKED.   Some of us older fans appreciate everything JR did for us and bleed Carolina Panther Blue and Black.

While JR wasn't the perfect owner and didn't bring us a Lombardi and least he wasn't Jerry Jones or Daniel Synder that can't keep their dumb asses out of the day to day operations.   Just to remind you mindless twits that bash him over mediocreness.   Neither Dallas or Washington has won the Lombardi Trophy since the Panthers have been in existence.  In fact, a couple of seasons we were the reason their season ended.

Becareful of what you ask for.  YOU MIGHT JUST GET IT!!!!!

Mr. Richardson, thank you for you undying efforts to bring a team to the Carolina's.  Without your efforts I would not have the incredible memories that I share with my family and friends.

Marty Hurney ladies and gentlemen, give a big round of applause.

She files a motion that is denied by the judge and then retracts it a few days later. I'm just having a hard time seeing how this is going to end Hurney's time here. It really feels more like your Hurney hate is causing you to really try to turn this into more than it appears to be.

I lost interest in her after that.  :)

I went to jury duty back in my early 20s.  Me and another guy were talking when a super hot female defendant came up to be arraigned.  We suddenly became very interested in the case.

Then they talked about how she was accused of chasing down her boyfriend, doing serious damage to his vehicle outside a club then going in the club and beating him so badly with a baseball bat that he wound up in the hospital.

We quickly became less interested.
