Ownership options so far

Perhaps the Panthers haven't reached this level yet in the Carolinas but take the LA Dodgers as an example. I consider the Dodgers a public trust. The Dodgers are part of the fabric of Southern California and by and large has been a class organization that has done things the right way in business and by the fan. A few years back Frank McCourt purchased the Dodgers but did not last for long as he was not the right ownership. Guggenheim, with Magic Johnson out front now runs the Dodgers and things are as they should be.

Who owns the Panthers isn't as important as how the organization is run top to bottom. Run it the right way and win games, Panther fans should demand no less.

And that's where I think a lot of the problem is.

What's hurt the Panthers organization the most has been Jerry Richardson's habit of using job promotions as a reward for loyalty without regard to whether people were actually qualified to do the job that he was giving them.

With him out of the way, I believe that practice stops.

Quick Note: To the folks who are hoping that the Panthers relax their standards when it comes to drafting or signing "bad boys", my gut feeling is that Frank Fertitta is your guy.  Ditto relaxing the emphasis on a "family friendly" atmosphere in the stadium on gameday.

I'm speculating that based on what I know of the UFC.  Also, going by what I've seen of the average UFC Ring Girl and the fact that Fertitta has spent quite a bit of time in Vegas, skimpier cheerleader uniforms are a possibility as well.

(something tells me Fertitta may have suddenly gained some fans)

I think you put too much stock into the Fertitta's day-to-day operations of that organization. They seemed to be largely hands off as long as the organization kept tracking towards success.

It's not so much the day to day stuff as it is that the UFC certainly has its fair share of bad boy types.

They're also known for some pretty rowdy audiences, so I have a hard time imagining them telling people to sit down and stop disturbing others by being too loud.

I won't deny that they might change the general atmosphere but I think they are more likely to hand off the franchise to someone that is able to sell the product a little more effectively than to attempt to try and run the daily operations.

Which, honestly, is something I'm hoping for in an owner. I want them to put the football operations in the hands of a football person and let them run things.

Not Dana White, though. Although I have to admit that could be interesting.

(imagine Dana White on cutdown day) :)

Not denying he's an ass, but can you imagine what he'd be like telling players they were cut?

He'd probably actually have more tact that Gettleman in those situations, I will give Dana that. I just can't stand Dana's insane hypocrisy. Plus, could you imagine what a sideshow the team would be? We would literally be volunteering for Hard Knocks every offseason. Ugh.

Included Diddy last, and wrote nothing positive about him. Why even include him in this topic OP?

I was thinking the same thing. And that’s largely the whole sentiment of the huddle.. basically it’s code for we don’t one of those owning a team. Listing him last and largely having nothing positive at all to say about the made like he’s a human joke.

See, I'd imagine White telling people"you suck" and "get the #@$& out of the building".

Agree about the sideshow aspect. To be fair, that kind of helped the UFC get to where they are now, but it's not something I'd want the Panthers to embrace.
