if we're up by 14 or so points this weekend and we've got nothing to lose, i'd like to see jarrett run a fly route or two and let jake chuck it deep to him, see if he can come up with it. if he can stretch the field, moose would actually become more useful, IMO.

Fly route for Jarrett? Didn't USC have a D-lineman that ran a faster 40 at their Pro Day? Not sure Jarrett has finished his yet

I dont think he worked out at the combine.

""It's been nearly three months since Dwayne Jarrett could run under the watchful eye of NFL scouts. And when he did finally take off on a 40-yard dash Wednesday, it seemed to take him that long to reach the finish line.

Jarrett turned in two times, of 4.64 seconds and 4.65 seconds, according to according to one scout during USC's Pro Day at Cromwell Field. Several others had varying times, but all were north of 4.6.

That's well off the 4.4 that fellow USC receiver Steve Smith turned in at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis more than a month ago, and slower even than linebacker Dallas Sartz's 4.58 and defensive lineman Travis Tofi's 4.57 on Wednesday.

"So many people have been putting a pimple on the 40," said Jarrett, who ran in a black-and-gold, Michael Johnson-like track suit that Nike designed for him. "I just went out there, worked and did what I was supposed to do and am happy with the results. I'm a big receiver. I think around that time is pretty good."

Jarrett's pass-catching workout wasn't smooth, either. His cuts weren't nearly as sharp as Smith, and one slipped and fell on one. A scout for an AFC team described Jarrett, who is 6-foot-5, 214 pounds, as stiff. "

Yeah but Hurney "saw something" in Jarrett and bypased the leagues currnet leading receiver in favor of Jarrett.

now that it's becoming clear that No. 2 WR Muhsin Muhammad isn't capable of stretching the field and drawing the defense's attention away from the team's top playmaker

That was obvious last year.

    • Yeah lol well the interest isn’t really about seeking stimulation.  I wanted to see how actually bad it was.  And how much of it was women setting him up to be their cash cow.  That is the stuff that leveraged the Panthers into David Tepper’s hands. It is important in that sense.     The worst that I have heard is that he got them in the car and clumsily reached across to help them with their seat belt and made contact. With his arm. That was probably his big slick move. And I can almost guarantee he wasn’t rejected every time. It is easy to picture that action bringing his head close enough to the woman’s head to where he could go in for the kiss if he thought he got the green light.    I really don’t care if JR was a horn dog. We heard all our lives up until the last few years that one of the perks of being really old is that you can flirt with the young women and it is not just tolerated but expected. So he was keeping a tradition alive at some point 😂
    • Well I rubbed some dirt on it and am still here just not optimistic about the future of the QB position. Even what I had accepted as a ceiling raised to an acceptable level turned out to be a bit of a mirage, upon rewatch of the WC game.  Good plays were there yes, but some pretty bad ones too that the good ones late in the game kind of obscured. I have to downgrade that a little.  Especially after rewatching the last 4 plays. I remember the arguments about he did his job the WRs didn’t but that was really just that last muff by Coker I think it was on our final offensive play.   To the future: I know what my level is for paying him and recommitting, but I don’t have any confidence that the team shares my high bar.    But thanks for the pep talk
